He did not get benched. He injured his ankle in the 1st quarter, he left due to injury along with KittleOnly good thing looking forward to a short week is SF themselves is a mess dealing with injuries and a starting QB playing so bad he got benched for the second time this season during a game.
Personnel deficiencies aside, I would think that getting gashed and embarrassed twice in the last 10 games or so by a similar style of rushing attack is indicative of some flaw in the D system, coaching and game planning.

#1, 2, and 3 have been trademarks of the GB defense going back to the MM years. That indicates it's a systematic/organizational thing. New DC new coach and we still see those things.I read that Cook had 90+ yards after contact. He had 160 and change on the ground total.
That tells me the scheme put guys in position to make plays, but:
1) They don't know how to tackle, are not being taught how to tackle, and are not training how to tackle, or
2) They don't have the desire, attitude, and chutzpah to put their shoulder into someone and drive them to the ground, and
3) They sure as hell aren't being held accountable
I think they're soft #2 with # 1 sprinkled in and a huge dose of #3.
It doesn't matter how good a Defensive Coordinator's scheme is if he can't get his players to tackle. Pettiness isn't doing his job.
The players might not be the highest caliber. But a Defensive player who doesn't aggressively want to tackle should be raising rabbits.
But at least they're having fun.
