NIL - Texas style

Saw recent a player who got like 800K NIL deal. Heck soon NIL money could be more then they make starting out as pros
It was $400k per season. It was for hoops. Deal was with LifeWallet

NCAA will show their muscle? Seriously? They're in a position where they're about to be turned out to pasture. They would never go against the top conferences in the nation who are the ones who will be benefiting by the players they can "hire."

In 18 months, the NCAA may be history.

They have no other recourse. They won’t go after a conference but don’t put it past them to make a TCU an example. The NCAA will be with us for about 5 years. Once new CFP deal is worked out it’s no turning back

And here’s something to consider. The guys who are throwing money at these collectives are not dumb. The vast majority are smart businessmen and they will either need to see RIO , translation wins / championships and / or helping their business margins or their money dries up. Not all of it but it’s not some endless cash flow. Just like boosters they want results

Significant for Wisconsin….
Learfield, the multi-media rights holder for a majority of FBS, is partnering with Opendorse as its NIL provider.

True but seems schools are always working to find new people to replace the old who drop out for donors

NCAA is pretty useless as a org anymore

Let’s not confuse Collectives with school doners / boosters. Collectives are not associated with schools directly.

Is this just a way to funnel money to school without being connected?
