well, so much for the rest of this season, and probably next season.
depends who they hire...and can they fill via the portal. They may lose all their QB doing this

I think no matter what UW was going to look hard at the portal for a starting QB next year. Will be interesting to see what guys will be out there.

Zero chance. AD is not going to fire Fickell only 2 years after he fired him. UW is not going to fire the AD either just to fire Fickell. Now does Fickell need to produce in 2025? yes but even then unless the team stinks even worse does Fickell run the risk of getting fired. I think it's 2026 before it's either show up or get shown the door. They will give Fickell a full 4 year recuriting class before they think of getting rid of him.
Correct, Fick's buy out isn't something UW can do right now..his butt is not hot. However, he needed to make a move to calm the masses. Thus Longo is the scapegoat.

Now we've been recruiting Air Raid guys. Allegedly, they haven't gotten here, but will be here in the next few years. And, you're letting go of the Air Raid Guy? BS.

yep. now they get to start the recruiting process all over. because guys who committed to the badgers because of the air raid offense are simply going to decommit. i'm sure they have backup offers.
The timing of the Longo firing makes me wonder. There are 2 games left, what's to be gained? Is it just to start the search process early? Were there some issues in the locker room? Is there a guy Fick already has in mind who's currently not with a team? Maybe they did it to give recruits plenty of notice before national signing day in a few weeks. I don't know, just seems like odd timing.
I'm sure there will be guys leaving because of this, but I don't necessarily see a mass exodus since Longo wasn't really all that involved in recruiting other than QBs. I'm sure Locke leaves and his younger brother decommits. Not sure about LaCrue and Mettauer. Might depend on the replacement. Doesn't have to be an air raid guy to keep the current guys and recruits, but you better bring in someone with a known history of having a solid passing game or you will lose a bunch of them.
