What the hell is going on out there ? Roster cut edition

Hopefully Ted and Mm leave in the next few years for the rebuild. Dont want them here when that happens.

I don't think they'll want to be here either. It's one thing to come into GB, they way they did, win a championship and then watch the team decline to that point all while AR was at the helm of the offense. They'll want to keep their legacy intact. A new GM and new HC will get their shot at rebuilding the franchise whatever that may or may not entail. By the time AR goes, I believe they'll go or maybe their egos get the best of them and they want to prove that it was the GM and HC , not AR, that made this team go.

Unless we bring in a HC that runs the same offense Mike does do we really want to make a change at this point in Rodgers' career?

Man, before Sitton was released a lot of people here were excited about this season. Can losing your LG really be the death knell of our chances to have a good season this year?
It is if the inferior new guy gets Aaron hurt.

And I rest my case. Sigh! FP(

Mike Renner:
"Lane Taylor allowed more pressures this preseason (9) than Josh Sitton did in all of 2013 (8)"

Moves like this is why we have only 1 SB appearance while Pats keep returning.

TT & company either hold on to players too long getting nothing in return or a comp pick, while Pats trade players and get high draft picks. You don't just cut your best OL and get nothing for him.

This is a much bigger loss on field then most realize no matter how anyone spins it. The bs that they put the best players on the field and keep them doesn't apply anymore and hasn't for awhile.

Bill Walsh said a HC has a window and then his message gets stale. MM is past that time window. There are exceptions like coach B, but MM isn't close to him imo. For that matter neither is Thompson when it comes to player moves, draft moves, and free agency.

And yes something is wrong in GB and has been for at least 2 years.

When I read this coming from a Packer fan I can see clearly that it's time for change in GB, and BIG changes should have happened after the Seattle collapse.
Unfortunately we're stuck with MM and his staff as they saved their jobs when the team defeated Washington in the playoffs last season.

Of course I want the team to go 12-4 or better and take a deep run in the playoffs, but something tells me we're in for more of the same old this season.
It's hard not to be negative, I'm sure I'm like a lot of Packer fans right now who are just trying to stay optimistic. Ahh, we must remember to enjoy the season.

90% of the comments here are bashing McCarthy. Why in the hell is Ted Thompson not held accountable. If the power structure in GB is a clear separation between the gm and HC why did general manager override his HC? And do it in the best interest of the product on the field? In other words. McCarthy suck it up. But the gm who cannot even stand in front of the press to answer questions comes off as weak but he gets a pass.

This is not a McCarthy problem. This is not a Thompson problem. It's an orgizational problem with the staff and front office not on the same page. This may be the start of the transition plan. I don't know. But I also don't think Sitton will be the last to be show the door

Very simple... and we went over it in shout. TT disclosed last year he let's MM and staff make the training camp cuts. He said very plainly that he talks to them about this stuff but ultimately it's MM and his staff's decision. That being the case.. I am going to raise heck with the guy who made the decision not with the figure head who it's very plain has distanced himself from them ( That's another issue for another time).

Your correct the organization has issues as a whole... however right now I am interested in why MM and his staff let a pro bowl OG walk for an average player at best and is putting the protection of his franchise QB at risk.

What if this was a Sitton issue? There is a lot of bashing of the Packers organization but no one knows what happened except for Sitton, MM and TT. While the whole thing is perplexing I have a hard time believing if Sitton was truly surprised or upset about this move that he wouldn't be voicing his grievance.

Why would he ? He's sitting in Halas hall counting his millions smoking a fat cigar. The Bears are joining him laughing there butt off they didn't have to give up a pick for a top 5 OG. By not bashing us or voicing his opinion he looks fantastic... we look dumb

So basically McCarthy has Belichick type power. Not in draft and FA but with final roster. Or does he have that power? I may be on an island on this one but that's not how President of this organization sees things or envisioned how the organization ran.

I agree with your comment on Thompson distancing himself. But that again goes to his boss.
