Love is not in the same planet as Griffin
All teams draft players thinking that the guy is going to be better at some point then the guy that is starting right now. Just a gamble that more often then not does not pay off.this brings me back to my previous question. if love is truly nowhere near as good as a qb that wasn't good enough to make it in the nfl, why on earth would the powers that be in green bay push rodgers out and make love the starter? professional suicide. i get that gutey hasn't proven that he's capable of managing the packers (by far) and maybe he's just that stupid. but it seems unlikely.
depends who you believe. There are some talking heads out there who think that Love can be an NFL QB, many don't, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. You can look at the history of the NFL and find guys who got looked over that become HOF QB's, Marino and Rodgers as examples and some who were pure busts and that list is longthis brings me back to my previous question. if love is truly nowhere near as good as a qb that wasn't good enough to make it in the nfl, why on earth would the powers that be in green bay push rodgers out and make love the starter? professional suicide. i get that gutey hasn't proven that he's capable of managing the packers (by far) and maybe he's just that stupid. but it seems unlikely.
To me he was a day 2 pick, not a guy you trade assets to get.
i definitely agree with you there. i'm not arguing that love will be a great qb at all. in fact, i think the packers' entire draft was horrible. if we get even one player who is a starter within two years i will be shocked.
I don't like the "starter" qualification for draft picks. Being a starter could just mean you're the roundest cow pie in the field.
i personally feel that every draft need to produce a minimum of two starters. and i'm not talking about the will whitticker type starter who is made the starter because you have nothing else better.
so then what is your qualification for draft picks? if we get a couple backups, is that a successful draft for you? if you are saying that it needs to be something better than a couple starters, then i am even more convinced that this draft is a complete failure.
I am a firm believer in judging a draft 2-3 years after. Sure we can be critical of some picks and also critics of not filling holes. Runyon could be a solid starter same with Dillon. Maybe not pro bowl types but who knows.i personally feel that every draft need to produce a minimum of two starters. and i'm not talking about the will whitticker type starter who is made the starter because you have nothing else better.
