Packers 2023-24 Season Thread

I won't be shocked if GB eats the cap hit and trade Alexander in off-season. If there is big issues between him and team you don't want that crap infecting rest of locker room.

Alexander is history in GB, and should be. There is absolutely no excuse for what he did. I think the Packers will take darned near anything they can for him in terms of draft capital. Even a 4th or 5th round pick will be acceptable.

I don't think he's the only one who will be meeting this fate because of a lack of personal discipline. There has to be a few players who are more than unhappy about one thing or another in their rooms. It's time to clean house, and change the culture in these rooms.

I don't care if Alexander first first team All Pro, and garnered 100% of the votes. It's time for him to hit the bricks. He, Alexander, is just one man on a team. Nothing more nor less. I don't know, but I have a hunch Walker is going as well, and probably a couple of others.

This is not a free pass for Barry to still be there next year, in my personal opinion.

You have to look at this for the angle of questioning ML control over his team. I did say in shout I didn’t think it was a huge deal but I understand the implications of letting this go.

Jaire isn’t the player he was no issues if they move him. Especially if he shows this level of lack of respect for authority. But I can bet he’s not the only one in that locker room who thinks like Jaire does.

I have to be honest, I blame ML just as much as I blame Barry for this mess. If ML does what he should have done last year and let Barry go then I think things are different. Not saying you could not still get rid of Jaire since he has lost some speed and ability but does he do what he did if Barry was gone? I think these players have been frustrated for 2 years and nothing has been done and now you are seeing it come to a head. Remember, players were speaking out last year about their frustrations. I am not excusing Jaire's behavior by any means but I do agree with Cheese. There are more players that are very frustrated right now.

Also, if there are 3 or 4 more defensive players you get rid of you are essentially starting over again because of how much of a mess this defense has been. Do you really think Gute is going to part with a first round pick (Walker) after two years? I just do not see that happening.

I think we could have seen Alexander's last game as a Packer. I think next week he will be listed as questionable on the injury report for the Bears game and when the inactives list comes out he will be on it. Then in off-season he's traded. Maybe Carolina will give up their 3rd rounder for him that way he can go home.

That would be great.

Matt LaFleur asked whether suspending Jaire Alexander was strictly because of the coin toss incident or an accumulation of things with the coin toss incident being the last straw: “It’s never for one thing.”
LaFleur said he and Gutekunst made the decision together to suspend Jaire. Wasn’t just the GM

I get the defensive players are frustraed with Barry want him gone but how some of them are acting out is just not professional. There are better ways to deal with it.

The assumption by some of you that it's all on this coach or that coach is laughable. It's pretty plain now there are bad apples in the cart, last week all I heard was ML should be tougher....well he put his size 12 in a problem child's backside today. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see he's going to fix the damn thing BUT he'll do it his way and in his time.

And I am not asking anymore...stop with the ML is getting fired BS, He's not getting fired, we've been over the whys again and again .....

Can we please move on to the tasks at hand with 2 weeks left:

A. Trying to beat MN
B. Evaluating the roster for the off-season and beyond.
