5 picks on days 1-2. I expect 2 of them might be DBs of whatever sort, a couple OL, and a RB. They tend to attack positions in multiples when they have a need.So there is little chance GB can address all the needs in one draft. So question is, which positions do address this draft and which ones do you put off until the 2025 draft?
Given the play of our DB's this season, I would agree that we need a corner and a safety in those first 5 picks. 3 picks in the first 45, 5 in the first 90. so . . . "potentially" 5 out of the top 100 players (but we know they'll go off somewhere during that time and pick someone that is a reach).5 picks on days 1-2. I don't see OG as a need at all.I don't think you can address everything this off-season, but you can fix a bunch of things and come pretty close.
I see OT, OG, RB as major needs, and WR and OC as more minor needs on offense. On defense you need CB, S x 2, and ILB as major needs and DT as a minor need. (You may need two ILBs if there is a scheme change.) That is more total needs than the 8 draft picks you have, and really only 5-6 picks you can kind of expect anything of because 6ths and 7ths are more hopes and prayers.
Now, they don't have to fix it ALL in the draft. They will likely move on from Bakh and Campbell and probably Aaron Jones unless they restructure him. That gives them about $35mil of CAP space. They'll need to extend some guys but those are mostly minimum type deals like Ford, Owens, TDavis, Ballentine, etc. Maybe they offer a reasonable deal to Dillon. Bottom line, they should still have about $15-20mil in CAP space. They can fix a spot or two in FA.
So in the draft you need OT, RB, CB, S, and ILB. That's doable. I'd let WR, OG, OC, DT and the second safety wait, though hopefully you can fix one or two in FA and I'd certainly select one of each later in the draft. You can live with Myers at OC for now. You can move ahead with Rhyan at OG. You have OK numbers at DT and WR already. You may need to live with Owens or Ford at S along with a rookie, but I'm still hopeful of adding a solid veteran S in FA.
More important is which Brian Gutekunst do you get - the guy who was mediocre to downright awful in his first 4 drafts, or the guy who seems to have been solid the last 2 drafts.

Tom and Jenkins will be your starting OG's next year IMO. Then you have Rhyan as backup and can find a couple other guys so OG is bottom of my list to worry about.Really? Runyan is a below average guard and Rhyan has not been able to crack the starting line up. Who would you put there? Newman?![]()
