Packers 2023-24 Season Thread

I'm a sucker so those Barry quotes tug at my heart strings a bit, but I think the deal with him is that he's not cut out to be a DC. There are plenty of guys who are awesome coordinators but make poor HCs. Barry is one step down - he's probably an awesome position coach who makes a poor DC. There's a place for him on a defensive staff, just not calling the defense on game day, making and implementing the game plan.

he did well as a position coach with the rams, but he has sucked everywhere he has been a dc. the job is clearly too much for him.

Some people do great interviews, but it's all show, no go. I wonder......

in Barry’s case we know what happened with Jim L. keeping Barry past last year was throwing good money after bad

I feel bad piling on the guy, he clearly cares but yeah, he’s failed his way out of the job.
If this was his first gig then sure give him more leeway to figure it out. But he’s failed in other places too.. it is what it is. Move on and he will find another job somewhere else as a position coach..

But as people have mentioned it’s time ML takes some heat for this. And maybe Murphy too. The kind of incompetence the team has seen on defense is just unacceptable at this level no matter who the team..

Reed, Musgrave, and Wicks mark first time in team history they have 3 rookie players with 30+ catches in a season. Kraft has a outside shot of joining them as he needs to average 4 catches per game in last 3 games to get to 30 catches.
