Packers 2023-24 Season Thread

Looking at the NFL FA list. the safety crop is piss poor lot of guys who are just nothing or are past their primes. Looks like only way to fix the safety issue will be thru the draft.

WR I think GB can find a vet WR in FA to help this team as there seems to be a lot of decent guys out there you won't have to break the bank on.

CB there seems like some guys if you want a #3 CB you could find one.

RB I think there is a guy you can likely find that would be a better #2 then Dillon would be.

I don't mean to beat a dead horse if this has been covered elsewhere but did anyone else read this article and think it odd? Below is kind of a bit shocking to me.

"Why Alexander went out for the toss at all was a mystery. The Packers don't have season-long captains, instead having weekly rotations. When asked whether Alexander was added as a game captain by the coaches or by Alexander himself, LaFleur replied: "Yeah."

Said Alexander: "It's only suiting. I don't think Coach knew I was from Charlotte, so..."

This was another chapter in a bizarre season for Alexander, who has been healthy enough to practice for more than a month but had not played since his Nov. 5 shoulder injury.

His return didn't help the Packers' struggling defense or embattled defensive coordinator Joe Barry. Panthers rookie Bryce Young threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns.

When asked whether it was worrisome to give up 30 points to a team that has won only two games, Alexander said, "Uh, yeah, it is. Honestly. But we just got to play the call that's called," which could be taken as a shot at Barry. But Alexander then added that it was "a pretty good game plan."

Alexander really pissed off ML with that coin toss issue. Alexander has a attitude issue lately not sure what it is but he needs to get it fixed. GB is not going to get rid of him at least until after 2024 because of his contract.

Jordan Love has 24 completions of 30-plus yards this season — that’s the most by a Packers quarterback since Aaron Rodgers recorded 27 during his MVP campaign in 2020.

On 2023 season Purdy has 30 and Stafford has 26. Only two QB's ahead of him but yet some say Love is not accurate or does not have a deep arm.

What do you guys think about this kid as a back-up QB? I bet we could get him in the 6th or 7th round. He is not ranked high but has good size and arm strength supposedly.

Joe Milton
QB Tennessee
Height: 6 - 5 | Weight: 236 | RAS: N/A
Flashes controlled pocket movements vs. pressure
Big, big arm
Acceleration through throwing motion is insane
The ball gets to the opposite hash instantaneously
-Ian Cummings

As good a thing to do with a late round pick as anything if he's still there - one site had him more in the Rd 4-5 range.. Prototypical size, good athlete, and it seems like he's got all the raw tools. Maybe you can develop him for a couple of years and then trade him for a draft pick.
