Packers 2022 Thread

Doubtful they give up major draft capital, if you believe reports that they want someone on a rookie deal which also alleviates the cap issue.
Thing is no one is giving up a WR on a rookie deal for cheap. Reports are saying that guys like Claypool and Jeudy the teams are wanting a day 2 pick.

Tom S has said that guys like Claypool and Jeudy do them no good because they're still young and just as likely as not to piss off Aaron and so not worth giving up a ton, which I think is a really good point. If Gute is going to trade for someone it has to be a mid-tier veteran, its a tough needle to thread and as many of you have said, more unlikely than likely to actually find the right piece.
Gutey is also trying to thread the needle of Arods time is growing short. So if you find a young guy on a rookie deal that WR also has to fit with how your offense will look with Love at the helm.

Any WR that can both come in right away and do well with Rodgers but also be on a rookie deal and can help out Love is simply not going to be on the trading block.

Rookie deal WR that you are trading for likely has next year left at most left. Is it worth tradeing for a guy who has 1 year left? Or if having to give a day 2 pick for a rookie deal WR extending them so they won't walk on you after next year because if you give that kind of comp you don't want to them just be a 1 1/2 year rental.

I don't think they'll find a worthwhile deal, but they absolutely should be looking under every rock just in case.

Nothing personal to anyone but Tom S and the rest of the beat guys in GB are just awful sources since the Gute/ML era came to be..whomever they had inside left with MM and they are throwing spitballs. Honestly I think Sunday night dictates a lot on what they do if they win or play it close I doubt GB lifts a finger...if they get blown out they maybe be compelled to add a piece they might otherwise not.

He wasnt citing sources in the building, he was expressing an opinion, in this case I think it makes sense

And most “reports” are leaked by the FO and / or agent to create a market.

Please frickin' NO.

In my opinion, you only make these trades to win Lombardis. You don't do it to try to get to a .500 season.

If our coaches can't coach the guys we have, why do you think they'll be able to coach up somebody new.

NO, HELL NO on a trade
I disagree. You make a trade to make the playoffs if it makes sense. And if you make the playoffs you have a puncher’s chance, especially considering how weak the NFC is
