Packers 2022 Thread

This is good pass rushers teams will overpay to get one. You might be able to get him cheaper then Chubb but if team triest to low ball him he could just say screw it play out year and force team to use FT on him and doubt GB wants to do that with their cap problems.
$33.4M fully guaranteed at signing. Devil is in the details

Stokes has gone from great rookie year to statistically one of the worst CB ….

Scheme issue? Coaching issue? Last year was an aberration?

He was hot/cold to begin with...has a tendency to get lazy when things are down. All knowns. His position coach should be able to fix this honestly.

Gets lazy when things are down.. kinda like Gary and Arod…. Figures

Big question is next year I think DC and staff are all out. Will new DC and his staff bring in a scheme that fits to current players.

Seems GB was being foolishg offering to many picks in a desperate attempt to try to contend with a team that won't contend this season. I know about the 2nd round pick for Claypool but another pick on top of that Also offering picks for a 30 year old TE who's among the highest paid? Seems Gute was trying to please Rodgers not what was best for the team.

The Packers made aggressive attempts to acquire Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Chase Claypool as well as Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller, league sources told ESPN. Green Bay offered two draft picks -- its second-round pick and another late-round pick -- to Pittsburgh for Claypool, according to sources. The Packers also revisited their interest in Waller, who they tried to acquire this past offseason when they traded Davante Adams to the Raiders. Green Bay asked the Raiders to include Waller in any package for Adams, but Las Vegas declined, according to sources. The Packers checked back with the Raiders before the deadline to see if they had any interest in dealing Waller this time, but Green Bay wasn't willing to offer enough trade compensation to Las Vegas for the Pro Bowl tight end, according to sources.

Don’t buy the Waller interest at all. He’s got a $12m cap hit next year.

Here’s the thing. The FO created this “window” to win in 2022. Is this a SB team probably not but based on the state of the NFC if you make the tournament you have a punchers chance. If you abandon the season in week 8-9 you’re sending a white flag message. Yeah a 2 for Claypool is probably too much but that’s what the market dictated. They had their price.

Rap confirmed the Waller thing this morning, or “confirmed” is strong but you know what I mean. Guys like him usually don’t say something unless they’re asked to behind the scenes by someone
