I think, if he doesn't perform better, he'll be gone after this season. Is that a bold, enlightening, prediction or what?!?!?
He can't be cut in 2022. Deal voids shortly after the SB so it's a 1 year deal. How did you get $1.9375? I got $1.8875 $1 million Salary 750K prorated SB 137,500 roster bonus as 12,5000 per game and he played in 11 games that would equal 137,500 in expected to be earned RB for the year$1,937,500 is the 2021 cap number.
Cap number for 2022 is $3M, BUT ONLY IF HE STAYS.
If he’s cut in 2022 the Packers clear $2.25M in cap space and years 3-4-5 all get a cap charge of $750K
I think since SB is technically in 2022 that’s what Danno was getting at. It’s the 2021/2022 seasonHe can't be cut in 2022. Deal voids shortly after the SB so it's a 1 year deal. They will wait and see how the draft falls to them. If they can fill enough holes then you might see Lowry and Jackson get released.Right now GB is around $2 million short to be able to sign their draft picks. They will need to redo more contracts or release player(s)
I can see waiting until after the draft as they see how it falls but NFL did change rules few years back to designate a player a post June cut right away so you would not have to make players wait to be cut after June and have they wait late in off-season to be cut and have to find new team. They will wait and see how the draft falls to them. If they can fill enough holes then you might see Lowry and Jackson get released.
And if Sullivan hasn’t signed his tender yet, they could consider rescinding the tender as well.
Waiting on Lowry so they can designate him as a post-June 1st release makes his cap savings $5.8M.
Might happen that way because Packers usually don’t sign many, if any, draft picks until after June 1st
