Post Game Bucs Defeat Packers 31-26

me too. and honestly, we don't see 99% of what goes on along the sideline or in the locker room. we only see what is fed to us by the networks. but it seems like just recently we saw an interview with allen lazard talking about how rodgers is a leader. i seem to recall another one with tonyan.

again, i'm not saying rodgers is perfect. nobody is perfect - especially in the world of professional team sports.

Great fantastic... I hear about it from all these other guys defending him but again ...I don't hear it EVER hear it from Rodger's own mouth and the NFL video folks are on the sideline of every game now.

10 YEARS NO RING...... You can talk all the positive you want but a decade of great stats and no ring is not something you're going to talk me into RB. He has to put up or shut up and the time to do so is razer thin.

To put in another perspective, Superhole 21 will go forward on Saturday, February 6, 2021. It's a golf tournament. The tournament shirt showcases the two teams playing in that year's superbowl.

That's 21 years.

With Favre and Rodgers - arguably 2 of the best, the Pack has been on 1 shirt.

pretty sad. just shows how bad the packers have been at drafting and free agency compared to other teams. how many other top notch qbs are expected to work wonders with 6th round draft picks and udfas as their starting receivers? if you ask me, we have had very little in the way of competency at the gm position since ron wolf left.

Can you imagine being Rodgers and watching TB acquiring Tom Brady and building a team of all-stars around him (both pre-season and during the regular season) to get to a SB this year and next? It has to not sit well with Rodgers knowing the Packers didn't bring in the tools necessary to bring them over the top from last year's 13-3 run to the NFC Championship game -- instead opting to build toward that mythical team three and four years from now. It always keeps us hanging around near the top at the end year-after-year, but never to the top.

The following is my opinion only (and I know I'm in the minority) but here goes: To blame Rodgers for this loss or lack of SBs I believe is myopic. We all know without him we're probably a 5-11 team, 7-9 at best. He shoulders an awful lot. He gets us ahead in games usually double digits, then usually holds on from other team issues. We also know that coming from behind is all on him. When he is under that kind of pressure and misses a pass or run but still has a good game, the Packers aren't built to overcome that to take that pressure off him. They've built themselves around a QB that needs to be perfect. Listen, Brady sucked that game, yet they still won! TB had the coaching and talent in other places to prevent a loss.

If I'm Rodgers, I'm super-pi$$ed about that draft and FA after a 13-3 Championship game season. If I'm him, with his talent and offense experience and smarts, I want in on decision-making - specifically acquiring talent - for this team to win NOW! And not build yet again for that unicorn team three and four years from now. If you're arguably the best QB to ever play this game on the other side of your peak, I would think there has to be a strong desire to be the #1 team now. Or I'd want to take my chances on a team dedicated to a SB now, like Tampa Bay.

Thing is how can you win now? Unless you are willing to cut talent you can't win now. Packers are not going to mortage the future just to please Rodgers. Rodgers does not have the leverage people thinks he does. He can tell GB he will retire but that's it. GB can say fine let Rodgers retire put him on the retirement list not owe him a dime and move on with Love.

The Tampa situation and the GB situation was not apples to apples.
- Tampa had ample cap space to sign Brady. They already had White, David on the roster as well as Evans and Godwin. It’s not like they were void of talent before Brady arrived. JPP & Barrett were also there pre Brady same with Whitehead
-Fournette gained less than 400 yds this year. Again not close to an all star year
-Tampa drafted a LT who changed that OL. They also drafted Winfield, so yeah they drafted better in 2020
-Brown and Gronk did not play at any all star level.
-GB had cap issues and that did not allow them to dive into FA. You can debate the draft and that’s valid but they went hard into FA the season before

Bottom line this was close the same Tampa team as last year, the difference was they added Brady and Winston was gone

That's a good question, and the reason our 2020 draft was so roundly criticized and panned. We were a very good team a year ago today missing only a few tools and opted to build "for the future", settling for "good enough as we are".

I didn't say anything about mortgaging the future "just to please Rodgers". I'm talking about building a team to win now -- not only to please Rodgers, but hopefully the team, surely the fans, and me, lol! If we're no longer in a position to do that now without mortgaging the future, that's not on Rodgers. That's on the front office.

My argument is that Rodgers is very competitive, driven. Certainly not perfect, but equally certain one of the best QBs to ever play the game. Someone implied above to the effect that Rodgers having a good game is not good enough, he has to be great every game - or he (Rodgers) is at fault. To me that removes teamwork and puts it on one person to carry the load of all the mistakes. In my leadership experience that rarely works. That's why I suggested he stay away from the mic a while, until the sting and frustration abates.

One problem with that, his $$$ hinders the front office from doing that. Then you look at the other heavy $$ guys like Adams and Bak. Who goes to get more $$ to build around. A lot of the teams that can do this have younger guys on better deals etc. So you see it sounds fantastic but with a cap in place you can't go out like Ron Wolf did and build all these pieces around a guy... your drafting and personal elevation has to be near perfect to pull that off.

Rodgers is hindering and can further hinder the issue unless he wants to take a pay cut what you see is what you get.
