Packers 53-man roster prediction 2018

Hill hasn't done anything in the reg season so lets not get to excited. He also was awful 2 weeks ago. I like the kid and think he is an interesting player but I don't see hall of fame yet either.

I agree with everyone here that I would love to dump hundley and somehow keep Boyle and see what we can get from him in the future. but lets also remember theses guys aren't seeing any time in real games unless 1 and maybe 2 qbs in front of them go down

And in the game before Hill had 4 turnovers playing with the 1st team. A truly Hundley like performance
Hundley has never looked that good no matter what team he played against. So still holds that they kept the wrong guy. Hill is improving. Hundley isn't

Hill probalby won't win the backup in NOS reason he will be kept is that he has enough value on ST that keeping him a developmental QB still works.

He's an UDFA in his second year. And has made improvement over first year. This is what it means to DEVELOP a player. If you judge these kids based on whether he's starter ready right now then you will never find a decent QB.

Hundley has been in the league longer and looks worse. He hasn't developed at all.

Hill would not be on that roster if he could not contribute on ST. Is Hill improved from last year? No. Did he improve from his last game yes but after 4 turnovers there sure better be. And the other thing BYU was a pro style system. His QB coach? Robbie Bosco

How bout we fix the ol and keep rodgers healthy and the backup dumpster fire can be avoided. Ive never seen such up roar for a non starter. We all agree the season is over with rodgers out long term. Most teams are in that boat. And dont agrue what philly did. That doesnt happen often

QB: Rodgers, Kizer,Boyle

PS: DL Looney , LB Martini, TE Tonyan, WR Yancey, OL Davis

Here we go... Lets see how bad I am at this....

QB: Rodgers, Kizer, Hundley (Neither is going anywhere unless Gutey pulls rank and sticks it to MM, but that won't happen. I'm hoping Boyle makes it to PS but prob not)

RB: Williams, Jones (suspended), Montgomery, Ripkowski (Monty is an MM fav, even though i'd rather see Bouagnon)

WR: Adams, Cobb, Allison, Moore, St. Brown, Valdez-Scantling, Davis (Mm's comments during presser mean Davis is a lock)

TE: Graham, Lewis, (actually a pretty solid TE group for once, my guess is they try to stash Tonyan)

OL: Bakhtiari, Taylor, Linsley, McCray, Bulaga, Murphy , Spriggs, Bell, Pankey, Day (GB is one injury away from risking Arods life)
DL: Wilkerson, Clark, Daniels, Adams, Lowry , Mbu (Maybe Wilkerson can instill some fire. but this group is still not good/lazy)
LB: Mathews, Martinez, Perry, Burks, Morrison, Gilbert, Morrison, Martini (Maybe one of the most underwhelming LB groups we've seen for awhile in GB)

CB: Williams, King, Alexander, Jackson, House, Rollins (Would much rather see this group with randall instead of House)

S: Clinton-Dix, Jones, Brice, Whitehead (opposing OCs are gonna figure out really quick you can attack this part of the D)

ST: Crosby, Scott, Bradley

OFFENSE
QB (3)
Keep: Rodgers (34), Kizer, Boyle
Cut: Hundley
Comments: Hundley marginally better than last year, but that's not saying a lot. Very impressed with Kizer. Bigger. Much stronger arm. His accuracy has been a real surprise. He stands in the pocket better. And he has so much more upside. Once he gets to know this offense and the benefit of more of McCarthy's coaching he'll be that much better. Boyle showed so well in the first two pre-season games that I think they need to make room to groom him on the 53, otherwise I think the odds of another team grabbing him off our Practice Squad -- like Taysom Hill last year -- are high. He seems to have that "it" factor that makes him worth keeping.

RB (3)
Keep: HB's Williams, Montgomery, FB Ripkowski
Suspended: Jones
Cut: HB Bouagnon, Daniels, Hill, FB Kerridge
Practice Squad: Mays

Comments: I think the Packers go with only 3 RBs to start the season, wait for Jones to return Game 3. Can always pull Mays up off the Practice Squad. We haven't seen enough of Mays to know if he's worth keeping or not. Williams, Jones fine, but Montgomery keeps getting nicked up. But they need to keep him for another year.
WR (7)
Keep: Adams, Cobb, Allison, Moore (D4), Valdes-Scantling (D5C), St. Brown (D6), Kumerow
Cut: Davis, Jennings, Lewis
PS: Yancey
Comments: Think we have 7 receivers worth keeping -- which doesn't include Davis, who I don't believe is worth a roster spot even though he may still be our best returner. All three rookies have shown they belong, Kumerow (assuming his shoulder injury isn't serious) can play, and Allison, despite his lack of speed, gets open and catches everything. Don't feel strongly about devoting a PS slot to Yancey, but for now he sticks around.

TE (3)
Keep: Graham (31), Lewis (34), Kendricks (30)
Cut: Byrd, Rader, Smith
PS: Tonyan
Comments: Graham and Lewis have looked nothing short of awesome. While it would not be a shock to see Kendricks cut and replaced by Tonyan, I think Tonyan can be stashed on the PS. Offers more upside than Byrd.
OL (9)
Keep: OT's Bakhtiari, Bulaga, Murphy, Spriggs G's Taylor, McCray, Patrick, Pankey, C Linsley
Cut: OT Bell, G Amichia, C Davis
PS: OT Light, C Day
DNR (Did Not Report): Madison (D5A)
Comments: Murphy was awful vs. the Raiders, but guessing he still sticks. Spriggs nothing great, but has improved his overall play and may still have upside. Bell looked terrible at both Tackle and Guard, so see no reason to keep. Patrick appears to have beaten out Day as the backup Center, can also play Guard, so he stays. Pankey has quietly shown well at both Tackle and Guard, makes it as the 9th OL. Amichia hasn't shown anything. Really sucks that Madison never reported (guessing he was rattled by the suicide of his college QB teammate). He may have emerged as our starting RG or third OT.

DEFENSE
DL (5)
Keep: Daniels, Clark, Wilkerson, Lowry, Adams
Cut: Lancaster, Sheehy, Mbu
PS: Looney (D7A)
Comments: No surprise on the five we keep. Adams looking like a good 3rd round pick. Packers may keep Sheehy or Lancaster over draft pick Looney for the PS.
LB (9)
Keep: OLB's Matthews (31), Perry, Gilbert, Fackrell, Biegel, Odom, ILBs Martinez, Burks (D3), Morrison
Cut: OLB Hughes, ILBs Hearns, Crawford
PS: OLB Donnerson (D7C), Martini
Injured Reserve: ILB Ryan
Comments: Morrison looks like a good player on the inside. On the outside, Gilbert the obvious #3, but Fackrell, Biegel and Odom have all been underwhelming. Could cut all 3, but can we find better anywhere? Donnerson and Martini have both flashed, so have them on the PS, but have either shown enough to warrant being on the 53?
DB (11)
Keep: CBs King, Williams (35), Alexander (D1), Jackson (D2), House, Goodson S's Clinton-Dix, Brice, Jones, Whitehead, Rollins
Cut: CB's Brown, Waters, Evans, Greene
PS: CB's Hawkins, Pipkins
Comments: King, Williams, Alexander, Jackson, House all looking good at CB. Biggest surprise for me has been Goodson, who like Jarrett Bush before him, I thought was a good Special Teams player who couldn't cover. But I think Goodson has looked very, very good the last two games -- and much better than either Hawkins or Pipkins. So I have the latter two going to the PS. Packers seem to really like Whitehead, so I think he's a lock for the fourth S slot. I have Rollins as a 5th, but he could easily be cut, is likely the 53rd ranked player of 53.

SPECIAL TEAMS (3)
Keep: PK Crosby (33), P Scott (D5B), LS Bradley (D7B)
Cut: LS Triner
Comments: Scott a bit inconsistent, but overall looking good. Not sure who's winning between Bradley and Triner.
