Post Game Thread: Minnesota Defeats Green Bay 17-14

Lacy is not used right by MM. He needs the ball 20 times a game. One of those backs that gets stronger as he hits his rhythm

Heck, a lot of my less literate football friends on facebook (which for being less football literate is a whole lot of alliteration) are noticing that there's something up with the team, and they are pretty evenly split between condemnation of McCarthy and Rodgers, though the lean is towards MM.

thumbsup:
Run Defense - has been solid for 2 weeks.

thumbsdown)) :
Rodgers - has been horrible, can't hit the long ball right now, yet he tries to throw it constantly.
Lacy - still fat
Secondary - can't cover anyone
Blitzing - never gets there, constantly gets picked up.
WR's - its obvious that Jordy is not the cure all. Still getting no separation. Why did they have 7 WR active and only basically used 3? Abby, Ty, Davis hardly saw the field.
OL - Bahktiari sure didn't look like a $12M man out there. Why is Don Barkley on this team? 1 Play and he gives up a sack!
MM - play calling sucks. League has caught up to his offense. He needs to adapt, try something different. Its the same boring plays week after week.

These first 2 games exposed a lot of this teams problems. The problem is they were the same problems they had last year and they were not properly address. Hopefully home cooking will get this team turned around. If not this could be a long season.

This will send Rodgers a message. It's either going to be a wake-up call, or it's going to be a problem for quite some time. Part of our answer will play out next Sunday, and for the next several weeks. I'm anxious to see how we go into the bye, and come out.

Unless MM gets after him like he did with Favre in 2007 Rodgers' play is not going to change. Like you said, this has been an issue for a while now. Last season a lot of folks have wondered if there was/is a rift between HC and star QB and there might be something to all of this. It is now up to Mike to be the boss and get his QB under control or this is gonna be a long season.

Exactly. Also, MM blames everyone else. Stop it! Use what you have and quit trying to make round pegs fit square holes. We have two 'big' WRs in Nelson and Adams, but MM uses them like they're OBJ. They are not 'sudden' or quick twitch and they won't get open deep until you throw a couple short. Let's see a quick slant (remember those?) or skinny post where the WR uses their body to shield off the DB? MM's ego is the biggest stumbling block right now IMO. He needs to change something-anything right now. Maybe even take away some of ARods privileges to audible at the line.
Opposing defenses run OUR routes! Somethings gotta change.

A couple of things. Nelson is not 100%. Maybe 80%. He is not the same player he was in 2014. He's not quick out of breaks and he could not get separation. On Adams. Next to Janis he may be the worst route runner on the team. He quits on routes. Does not countue routes in scramble drills.

For years I feel we have overvalued this group because Rodgers was playing at such a high level he made them look better.
