Post Game: Colts beat GB 31-26

ARods off his game. Jordy looks sullen and unhappy. No RBs. No TEs. Spiritless performance on the field. No one playing with any urgency. Stale, stagnant predictable. MM has lost this team. Too long in one spot. This from JS article:

After the game, Rodgers and Cobb both said they were confused about the diminished playing time for the team’s No. 2 receiver. McCarthy said lower volume was the plan all along.
“It was a late add, frankly,” McCarthy said. “It was clearly right before the time to hand in the inactives. … So we made some adjustments on our call sheet and went into the game thinking Randall would be in a limited fashion.”

Seems he can't even adjust to his own team let alone the opposition.

One would have to think that unless Ted has been living under a rock he has to know things aren't rosy at 1265. And for sure Mark Murphy must know. If things continue to deteriorate changes will have to be made before we squander the remaining years we still have a QB capable of playing at an elite level. I firmly believe a new regime and a new approach could be just the elixir this team needs going forward.

It has been a great run with McCarthy. He's had great success and a winning record all these years. He'll go down as one of the best HCs this franchise has ever had. But I do agree, after a while players can unconsciously tune out a coach and things become predictable and stale. It is probably time for a change.

3 headed problem:

1) Murphy and the BOD don't care about the football side of things as long as $$$ is flowing. They could care less about winning another title. They may know things are ba.... HEY LOOK A SHINY NEW HOTEL!!!!

2) TT is nothing more than a glorified scout at this point. I'm not even sure he cares about what goes on during the season. His nose is firmly in next years draft. I suspect some dissent in the front office as well. The very odd and not usual personnel movement this year might point to that. But overall his drafts have not been steller over last 5 years. And his strict draft and develop is no longer effective in the modern NFL where due to poor college talent and the CBA there are no dyntasies anymore. You can't take years to build a team. You have to take advantage of the peaks.

3) MM is a glorified OC. Not sure he is even trying to lead the team anymore. You can hear it in his pressers. It's all about x's and o's and game plan and execution. Not much leadership coming from that. Problems in the locker room and it seems he hides behind his game planning and call sheet. And his one apparent attempt to deal with it was release a team leader and solid veteran.

Change needs to happen. The sooner the better. Letting this continue helps nobody. Why delay the inevitable?

Edit: for all you business types GB is a classic example of an organization operating in silos. Which is not a good thing.
