I would have handled this differently.

Packers front office handled it this way. Hope they have it right

Yes 12 does give them better chance to win then 10 but you are pretty much saying we are going to win a SB in 2 years and then take our punishment.

Unless you hit homerun in draft in next few years outside of Alexander this team will have no talent on it and could be one of worst in the NFL
 
At some point 2024 or 2025 Rodgers is gong to be gone and Packers are going to have a devasting cap number to deal with.

So you basically answered your own question. Once 12 is out in 2 years the core talent is no different. You have probably Gary who was really good last year, Dillon, a reasonably effective OL. Your taking your punishment no matter what in 2 years

That's a broad brush assumption on your part ie winning...I say it for the hundredth time...If you do NOT win another SB doing this the franchise failed and probably goes into a hole. The truth is that what they are doing is risky as hell....
 
Crosby's contract will be rewritten, and extended, if it will help the cap.
