GB has to try to make an attempt to make it work if they just say screw it and trade him they get blasted for not trying. If they try they can say well we tried Rodgers just does not want to be a Packer anymore
And do what? Short of giving in to his BS money won’t solve this now

Just saying though if lets say team he wants to go to offers me a 2nd and say a team he does not want to go to offers a 1 I trade him to the team offering the one call his bluff on him that he would retire he does retire then he looks like the bad guy.
I take the 2 and move on. You save cap and cash plus an asset.

Said before rather save cap through a retirement then a 2nd round pick plus you traded him not your fault he retired. Plus not my job as GM to cater to the big baby my job get the best offer.

“I heard he’d happily go to Denver because they’ve got the weapons,” Eisen said. “He doesn’t care that it’s in Mahomes’ division. He would actually love to personally beat Mahomes. He would love to send Mahomes to the Wild Card every single year. This is what I’ve been told.”
Delusional! Rodgers thinks he going out west and whooping up on the Chiefs "every year". What strange fantasies he engages in.

The 2 things I learned early in my career when it came to negotiations. #1 always have 3 lists 1 things that I can live with if I have to 2 things that are deal breakers and 3, ones in could give a rats ass about #2 be prepared to walk away #3 understand not all deals are fair and sometimes you need to bend over if the client insists

No it’s your job to make the best deal for the organization at all levels. That includes what’s best for the brand.
