Post Game Vikings defeat GB 27-25

sadly, i don't think we really did. i think the vikings went to a soft defense knowing full well that their offense could easily control the ball for few minutes. i mean you could see they had no fear of our defense when they actually ran two pass plays in the final minutes of "kill the clock". i agree with jblood - we are the 3rd best team in our division. that could change next year if the vikings decide to move on from darnold and i think the lions may lose some personnel this offseason.
This has been MN most of the year, they build a lead and hold on late, several other teams should have beat MN. I truly don't think they are that much better than Green Bay.

It’s a good sign that the team doesn’t quit when it gets down late. That’s the positive that can be taken out of it.

Still rooting for Atlanta tonight as I think an Atlanta/Rams first round game is significantly more winnable. If Atlanta wins, our loss today is probably moot. That’s the other positive.
Great post. Go Atlanta! Beat Washington.

in other words, they build a lead and then go to a soft defense knowing that their offense can kill the clock if the score gets close. isn't that what i said?

okay, i defer. i haven't watched any other vikings games all season so you and mark are probably correct.
Vikings are a weird team, they also seem to get a lot of lucky breaks. It's really hard for me to give them credit when both times we weren't at full strength. If our DB's our in there and Wyatt doesn't get hurt, maybe a different game.
But to everyone's point coulda, woulda. shoulda don't feed the bulldog.

ML is getting out coached against the top teams. He's better then that. He needs to pull his head out of his ass and coach like we all know he can and beat these teams. There is no tomorrow now it's playoff time win or go home.

Not an excuse but the league also screwed GB with 3 games in like 15 days. Really hard to stay sharp both as a player and coach. Meanwhile the Lions only played outside twice all season. No bias there

Ugly game in the first half. No one was ready to play. Team has dead legs and need some rest. Really banged up as well.

My main takeaway is that if they want to regain their mojo in the playoffs then ML and Steno need to pivot from getting Jacobs going early to getting Love going early. Jacobs is a veteran, he can find his game at any time. Love is still young and I think he needs more coaching and confidence building than he’s getting right now. They shouldn’t treat him like a game manager. Let him feel good about himself. I keep saying confidence but that’s a lot of what i’m seeing - guys aren’t open all the time and he’s not finding a way to get it done and make plays. They got so spooked by the early INTs that he’s backed off making a lot of plays in general. It’s a night and day difference when he’s playing free to what we saw today and even the last couple weeks.

Beyond that, really frustrating that the secondary has been so dinged. It looks like they had a little something with Anderson but getting himself concussed early just blew everything up. It also sucks for Bullard, they plan for and practice him in the slot and then move him to S when someone gets injured. I think that’s a lot for a rookie to handle and they’re not doing him any favors. I hope they can settle him in to a spot and leave him there.

Finally, Cooper is an absolute stud.
