Post Game: Packers Defeat Bears 20-19

prior to this year, jones hasn't been all that durable. could just be another indication that our strength and conditioning people suck eggs. or it could just be luck. but another factor seems to be that ml is actually sticking with the run for a change.
GB tried not to run Jones too much; they were thinking about the long term with him. MN has him for the year, they’re going to run his wheels off. He was already dinged once this year, would not surprise if it happened again.

actually, that was mark, and he didn't say they aren't good. he said they blow. but i agree - it was a horrible waste of a top 15 pick.
I think I spend more time on the draft and looking at talent then GB does.... and I don't spend that much time doing it!!! Van Ness issues were known, anyone who knows UGA FB knew the positive/negatives of the 4 players we drafted and that all of them less Bullard platooned in/out a lot, great fresh but can't play 50 snaps. How come our staff didn't/doesn't know this ??

I think they see it and misjudge what’s teachable versus what’s innate. It’s a kind of narcissism or delusion. The prime example is tackling - GB staff thinks this is something that can be taught in camp, but it’s not. If a guy doesn’t tackle well in college he’s not going to just get better at it in the pros. They pay walk-in-ready prices on fixer-upper properties.

Yesterday snap cout for IDL

Clark 48 out of 72 snaps 0 stats recorded
Wyatt 35 out of 72 snaps 0 stats recorded
Slaton 34 out of 72 snaps 1 tackle 1 sack
Brooks 29 out of 72 snaps 2 tackles

Sorry that is piss poor stats. Esp when you have Clark making huge money and Wyatt being a 1st round pick in year 3.

DE/Edge snap count

Gary 46 out of 72 snaps 6 tackles 1 sack
Enagbare 41 out of 72 snaps 3 tackles
Van Ness 24 out of 72 snaps 0 stats recorded
Cox 22 snaps out of 72 snaps 3 tackles 1 sack
Mosby 10 snaps out of 72 snaps 1 tackle

Van Ness is looking like a bust. Cox who saw his first real game action of his career played only 2 less snaps and outperformed him. Heck Mosby who had 10 snaps did more.

This is showing how bad Gute and our scouting dept are. They are always picking defense high in the draft but we are getting little to no results out of them.

Actually, I prefer a rotation with less snap counts on DL... you don't want them playing 70 snaps GBP4. That's not how you win ballgames at all.

Since 1992 aka the rebirth of the team the Packers are 51-15 vs the Bears.

I looked back at some of the game and this is what I saw:

Hafley blitzed fairly often. The Bears were just ready for it. Of course the Packers d-lineman and LB's did not win their one on ones against one of the worst o-lines in the league. This was not on Hafley, IMO. A lot of this was on the players. We have major problems up front. Clark has lost a step big time, Wyatt is meh, Slaton is meh, Brooks is ok, Van Ess is meh, Gary has regressed, and then we have three UDFA's. Not good.

McKinney had his worst day as a Packer yesterday

CB's are very average and no depth but without a pass rush it is difficult for any defensive backfield

Jacobs was a stud again yesterday

Watson stepped up big time and was the reason we won this game

Love played pretty well except that INT was huge. He did miss some open guys. Kraft was open for big gains a few times and he just missed seeing him

I don't love how these WR's disappear for big lengths of time. I still think we need another dynamic WR next to Reed.

ML's play calling was very average this game; especially, in the Red Zone. Not taking the FG again almost cost us. He just doesn't seem to learn that you always take the points on the road.

The positive was we cut way down on our penalties and we only had 1 TO. At least we played more mistake free football.

The way the Packers are playing right now, I am not optimistic they win more than 3 games the rest of the way. 49ers, Dolphins, Lions, Seahawks, Saints, Vikings, Bears.

Buckle up....it's going to be bumpy.
