Post Game Green Bay Defeats Indy 16-10

Working with a game plan. That's what Willis learned. That's what LeFleur worked with this week. It was the right way to approach this game. Use what you have that you know will work, and take advantage of what skills the replacement QB does have. Don't force feed plays that are complicated on him.

If you'd told any of us beforehand this would be the result, we'd be thrilled.

Thus, I am thrilled.

But they've got to open it up a little next week. The kid needs to step up his processing of the game, if he can.

MLF had a pretty good game plan. Didn't put Willis in too many bad situations, even when GB was shooting themselves in the foot with penalties. Shortening the game with some first half bully ball paid off. Jumping to an early lead and getting an opening drive FG helps.

I bet Jacobs regrets that fumble; you just can't do that. With the way the game was going, if he scores there I think GB cruises.

Next week will be a tougher challenge, TEN knows Willis' weaknesses and while nobody was surprised by GB running the ball, TEN will have more film to work with. MLF and Hafley will have to come up with another gem of a game plan.
Is Levis > Richardson? I don't know.

McKinney has been worth every penny so far, and the rookie safety duo of Bullard and Bourbon (Evan Williams) look like good picks.

Penalties and run defense were problems for this team.

Where was Christian Watson?

Winning with a backup is really, really hard in the NFL. Guys like Matt Flynn are rare. I don't think Willis is in that category but he's got one under his belt for GB which should help him. Plus he might have a little extra motivation playing against his old team.

I liked the game plan for the most part. Running the ball worked really well in the first half. But in the 2nd half Indy seemed to be dealing with it a little better. I was looking to see them mix it up a little more. I thought Willis did a good job. I have to admit that I was nervous. Not sure how he would play. He did not appear to be nervous The couple of times he passed the ball he seemed to be accurate. If he plays again next week maybe they will give him a little more leeway. I understand why they didn't call many passes because you run the ball until the other team stops you.

The defense was ok. Maybe I'm expecting too much. It was great to see them get a turnover but I didn't see them get a lot of pressure on Anthony. Now maybe it was difficult because Anthony is a dual threat QB and of course they had to stop Jonathan Taylor. If I remember correctly they only got 2 sacks.

It was a good game. It a little to close for my comfort towards the end.

Willis didn’t lose the game, that’s all you can ask of a backup QB. Got a win with a guy who has a slower windup than my grandma. Hats off to ML and staff.

Jacob’s made some nice holes for himself. Recievers made some great catches. Def made some key stops and turnovers.

OL is concerning. While Jacob’s was able to run, far too many times the DL was pressuring immediately. Jacob’s ability to break tackles was big.

Still don’t know what this team is yet. Too many penalties. Too many missed blocks. Def is slow to the side and gets sealed off too easily.

I bet Love is back next week. Which will be big.
