I agree give the man a nice 1 year deal with a signing bonus and don't worry about K next year.Considering how poorly GB has done at K in the past few years I’d say McManus should be a high priority to resign….

The standard for kickers is that there is no story about him, no one thinks about him, the coaches don't worry about him or adjust the play calling and decision making based on him. He shows up and does a perfectly average job and that's worth keeping.it's not like he's awesome. it's just that he's a lot better than awful.

Agree with both but he is getting long in the tooth and they'll eventually need to secure that position for the future. The standard for kickers is that there is no story about him, no one thinks about him, the coaches don't worry about him or adjust the play calling and decision making based on him. I thought so too but I looked him up and he's only 33. I thought he was 37 or 38. For a kicker, he should have some good years left.Agree with both but he is getting long in the tooth and they'll eventually need to secure that position for the future.
My thought process is he gives you stability in 25, fill those other holes etc and look at a younger guy in 26.Agree with both but he is getting long in the tooth and they'll eventually need to secure that position for the future.
yes, he is pretty average. i just thought it was kinda weird that he was still available when we got him. it was like nobody wanted him. i'm glad we got him and he has done a decent job for us, which is more than i can say about the last couple guys. The standard for kickers is that there is no story about him, no one thinks about him, the coaches don't worry about him or adjust the play calling and decision making based on him. No one did want him because he still had that stigma of being charged with the assualt crime on the plane despite the NFL saying they could not find anyone to say he did anything besides who accused him.yes, he is pretty average. i just thought it was kinda weird that he was still available when we got him. it was like nobody wanted him. i'm glad we got him and he has done a decent job for us, which is more than i can say about the last couple guys.
