Packers 2023-24 Season Thread

I'd be in favor of making a deal or two to add some depth and maybe a piece for the future. The thing is, you want some pieces that don't involve day 1 or maybe even day 2 picks and you'd like them to be pieces for the future as well.

The list in Mark's post has a number of guys that will be one year rentals, which is OK as long as you aren't giving up valuable picks. I'm okay with giving up late picks because lord knows we are already the youngest team and don't need many more late round developmental guys right now.

The guys that make the most sense if you are giving up anymore than a 6th or 7th would be Courtland Sutton and Terrace Marshall. Both are young players but have experience. Both also still have a year or more left on their deals.

I'd part with any of them other than maybe Watson.

The problem with these guys other than Watson is that they don't appeal to the bad/mediocre teams that are sellers at the deadline. The bad teams are trying to unload older players or big contracts and don't want them back. If you could get a young, good player back for a veteran that's be great, but it's not real likely I don't think.

The good teams are interested in getting those older veterans for a playoff push. They are mostly only going to give you draft picks because they don't want to give up talent. I'm not against that if you can get a 1st or 2nd Rd pick but that isn't helping the Packers this year.

We have seen what you get for players a swap of late round picks. Not worth it.

I would try to move Rasul. He's having a good year, one more year on contract, contract is manageable, plays a premium position where teams could want to load up for a title run. I think he has the most trade value. Jaire is injured with a big contract. Clark I'd be OK trading too, next year he has a big cap hit but a new team could renegotiate.

Watson and Jones I'd keep.

Stenovich is clearly a problem, they should've let him go to Denver with Hackett. Keeping him was a mistake.
