@RapSheetPackers extended Gary this morning. I believe that opens up some cap space this year if they wanted to add at the deadline.

By my math, it looks like the Rashan Gary extension costs an additional $931,163 on the 2023 salary cap vs the 5th year option salary he was previously playing on.
With a $24 million a year average probably not much you can do to lower this year. Even more so with half the year gone. I wonder though if GB set up in the deal they can get out after year 3 or if will be stuck in this deal with dead cap for all 4 years.Well shit, i stand corrected. Don’t they usually save money by doing extensions? I guess the 5th year option math goofed it up
The next GM/finance guy will have to worry about this when Policy cleans house. With a $24 million a year average probably not much you can do to lower this year. Even more so with half the year gone. I know this is gonna sound nutty but I'm so dang leery about any of these high priced contracts. I know it's just part of the norm in the league but with all the injuries and dead cap space this team has had, it just leaves me a little gun shy. That is not to say that Gary is not deserving. If he hit the open market, someone would pay him handsomely for sure so I get it. I'm just hoping he stays healthy and he can produce at a high level in this defense.Packers extended Gary this morning.
