Packers 2023-24 Season Thread

Packers extended Gary this morning. I believe that opens up some cap space this year if they wanted to add at the deadline.

Just hope like most contracts GB has signed with players just hope this won't bite GB in the ass.
 
Well shit, i stand corrected. Don’t they usually save money by doing extensions? I guess the 5th year option math goofed it up

With a $24 million a year average probably not much you can do to lower this year. Even more so with half the year gone. I wonder though if GB set up in the deal they can get out after year 3 or if will be stuck in this deal with dead cap for all 4 years.

The next GM/finance guy will have to worry about this when Policy cleans house.

I know this is gonna sound nutty but I'm so dang leery about any of these high priced contracts. I know it's just part of the norm in the league but with all the injuries and dead cap space this team has had, it just leaves me a little gun shy. That is not to say that Gary is not deserving. If he hit the open market, someone would pay him handsomely for sure so I get it. I'm just hoping he stays healthy and he can produce at a high level in this defense.
