Packers 2022 Thread

And to some degree they are correct. The organization has neglected to add WR help or for that matter TE help. There is no true #1 and 3 rookies. Sure he’s made his share of mistakes and is accountable but it’s far from all on him
Yeah everyone deserves blame but if you are going to be the highest paid player in the NFL you better be able to help carry a team. For what Rodgers makes and be the starting QB the lions share of blame will always fall on him.

No it’s a team game. And we have bitched and screamed that the FO has neglected to add weapons specifically WR. And has been mentioned in another thread TE. The OL has been at best average and pass pro has been pathetic at times.

It’s clear his skills have fallen and it’s obvious he’s not 100%. I get some / many fans can’t stand the dude personally so yeah I get it. But while he’s part of the problem the problems are must deeper

It's more on him than you care to say...which is part of the issue within the Packer culture.

Yep you can say it's not Rodgers if the WR's are dropping balls or running incorrect routes or the OL is getting him sacked before he has time to pass but when he's all season made bad throws or missed wide open WR's you can't blame anyone but him. Rodgers deserves the blame he gets. While the FO deserves blame for giving into Rodgers demands to bring him back he's the guy who wanted to get paid instead of trying to set up a team to make one last run at a SB. But that will be part of his legacy a guy who valued himself by how much he was paid over wanting to win rings.

As said he’s part of the problem, that’s not debatable. But to say he needs to carry the team with a pedestrian WR (Watkins) 3 rookies and Lazard who at best is a #2 anywhere else in the league you’re going to have problems.

As to being overpaid, his cap hit is $28m. Less than Goff, Cousins, Tannehill and equal to Wentz.

This is not a defense of 12, honestly I wanted him to walk after 2021 for multiple reasons.

Great. Let’s put 3 rooks on any roster and a washed up WR on any roster, it won’t be pretty. Part of the issue with 12 is he hit the wall and the skills declined. Happens in this league.

You are correct his skills declined, but to GBP4 point, A.Knowing his cap number would hinder GB front office to a certain point from getting talent he still signed it because greedy( ...and B) We now know he knew Adams was most likely gone for the yr.

Look, he has an ego as big as Texas, the dude truly believes he can will us to wins, however, father time is laughing his butt at him. It's Rodgers himself that thinks he can get the ball to whomever and win, so yeah until he gets the wall his mental approach is a big part of the issue.

Is Rodgers washed up? No, he definitely can still win. But can he carry a hot mess on his shoulders and make the playoffs....no, those days are past. The problem is that we are paying him like he can, and we haven't put enough talent around him due to various reasons.

Still until he stops the sideline pout and the stupid comments at his pressers he's inviting the criticism.

One main thing is Rodgers needs to stop goingon Pat McAfee every week and putting out all his and the team's dirty laundry. That helps no one and all it does is create factures between his teammates and coaches. But #12 for the last few years has had the I don't give a flying F attitude with knowing that the team won't stand up to him so he can get away with it.

Then don’t offer the contract structure you did. Dunn knew the market and he negotiated based on that. And more to that point, the SB was more the albatross more than anything. His base is only $1.5, next year it’s $1.1 and in 24 it’s $2.25. But as usual structure matters and that’s a 2 way street (Dunn & Murphy). The organization made the decision that he was the best chance to win and structured other deals (void years). They easily could have walked away, traded 12 and turn the keys over to 10. They made that bed alone and now they got what they got
