Packers 2022 Thread

Is Rodgers washed up? No, he definitely can still win. But can he carry a hot mess on his shoulders and make the playoffs....no, those days are past. The problem is that we are paying him like he can, and we haven't put enough talent around him due to various reasons.

Still until he stops the sideline pout and the stupid comments at his pressers he's inviting the criticism.
His arm strength has diminished, his velocity is down considerably. So yeah he’s a shell of what he was physically

Then don’t offer the contract structure you did. Dunn knew the market and he negotiated based on that. And more to that point, the SB was more the albatross more than anything. His base is only $1.5, next year it’s $1.1 and in 24 it’s $2.25. But as usual structure matters and that’s a 2 way street (Dunn & Murphy). The organization made the decision that he was the best chance to win and structured other deals (void years). They easily could have walked away, traded 12 and turn the keys over to 10. They made that bed alone and now they got what they got
This FO is no reactionary to fans it's a joke. When Favre retired and then wanted to come back Packers were ready to say ok and fly Favre back to GB to announce he was coming back. Seems same thing with Rodgers he was ready to retire but begged him to come back even though they felt they already had the QB ready to replace him.

I don’t buy in that they did it for the fans. This was on Murphy’s legacy to try and win a Lombardi before he walked and went all in not just on Rodgers but allowed Ball to kick the can down the road with contract void years.

What are you smoking my dude? When Favre wanted to come back the Packers sent a plane to Mississippi but the only thing on it was his locker and a krispy kreme gift card.

Yeah everyone deserves blame but if you are going to be the highest paid player in the NFL you better be able to help carry a team. For what Rodgers makes and be the starting QB the lions share of blame will always fall on him.
And one more thing on his contract. Let’s say he takes $20m less on his SB. Well that might save $4m per year in space since his base is so low in 2022/2023 / 2024. $4m in cap savings is not changing the dynamics of this roster

per a person making excuses for Rodgers if he had a good OL and a true #1 WR he would be winning. My response to him yeah and many QB's with a good OL and true #1 WR can win.

And as we all know, it’s all about Rodgers winning and nobody else

I still say bench Arod. He isn’t mentally there at all. What does Gb have to lose? When your starting elite highly paid QB answers the question “where do you go from here” with “Home”….. sorry time to sit him and let him get his head straight. If that is what your team leader is acting like and saying of course the rest of the team is gonna give up too.

It’s not like he’s winning games anyway…

Honestly until or if they lose 2 more that won't be an option. If they have 9 loses then maybe.
