HAPPY NIL DAY

That's a roast beef in a bag, with marinade. It's not all that different than what we do at home, to prepare a brisket, etc. That pic is misleading.
Well I have been in the back of the house at an Arby’s and it’s not roast beef in marinade. It’s grey, soft and like a sponge

So, if it's not roasts, what is it? Alien life forms being raised at Area 51, specifically for Arby's? Roasts do get soggy, and sponge like when they are heavily marinaded for extended periods of time, and beef does have a tendency to change color when it's aging. It's that repulsion factor that you indicate you have that forces these people to use food coloring to make it "pink" so they don't freak out.

I'm not defending the food industry, nor Arby's, because their practices aren't the best, but you're making it sound like it's pressed chunks of crap beef left over, thrown in a bag, and that's not true.

You probably shouldn't eat at too many restaurants in this day and age, the way it sounds. A lot of them have their food shipped in from a processing source, in cryogenic bags, which they open, and dump into whatever they use to cook it. The "home made" process is darned near history.

I was not implying pressed chunks. It’s in a roasting bag but does not come like what you or I bring to roast. It’s processed food

People were shocked to find out a recent video that KFC mashed potatoes were instant. Heck that has been happening for decades when I worked there for my first job in the 90s it was instant potatos you just added a little hot water and some melted butter that also came pre-packaged.

that doesn't surprise me at all. they are always watery and bland. i can't stand them or the stuff they call gravy.

at least at chipotle everything starts out fresh. it is definitely one of the heathier fast food chains.

Also instant nothing but a powder mix to add hot water too

Even the chicken when I worked there you but it in a spinner for like 5 mintues with a gallon of water and pre-mixed marinade and then breaded it up in flour with pre-packaged herbs and spices and into the fryer it went.

The thing that franchisees wanted to get perfect was the gravy. The Colonel would go visit stores and “taste” the gravy. Oh those 5 years working on that account were to say the least interesting

The gravy when I worked there and my guess still sucks was crap. Only one sides made fresh. Mac n Cheese, Baked beans, Wedges all frozen. Only thing made fresh was the slaw the cabbage and carrots were ground fresh though the sauce for it was came in a bag.
