2024 NFL Season Thread

Had this been a off off thing for this Texans player he might get benefit of the doubt. But earlier this season he threw a punch at a Bears player in a game. Also other seasons of hitting guy out of bounds and other issues. This guy has a image of playing beyond the whistle and NFL won't give him the benfit of the doubt.

honestly, i don't think the suspension was all about the "late hit". it was mostly about how he reacted to the penalty call. starting a fight and continuing to fight no matter who tried to get him to stop. it was a totally @$$hole behavior, and i commend the nfl for showing that they are not going to tolerate it.

I think this is right - the suspension was more about the brawl he started and escalated than the hit.

At first glance the hit looks really bad but honestly, these QBs need to learn to protect themselves. If you're running and a guy is bearing down on you, it's dangerous to slide feet first. For their own protection they're better off diving head first and pivoting their bodies away from the hit, or man up and commit to the run and take the tackle.

NFL will never do this, but there should be a "late slide" 5 yard penalty for some of this stuff - should also include sideline prancing around. Lower your shoulder and take the hit like a runner, or get out of bounds early.

Brady doing commentary on Sunday shared that sentiment - he said, with all the new offense promoting penalties, the onus should not be put entirely on the defensive player.

the packers leading receiver has 693 yards so far in 2024. four rookies have more.

Read that GBP.

Crazy Gastineau's still pissed.

But, I'll give him it looked like Favre took a dive for a buddy.

I was always surprised Favre's linemen weren't pissed. They might have been but were smart enough not to make anything of it.

Look time out.... this whole thing is bullshit, and might swear more so hold on. I played the game since 6th grade, and coached it for another 25 years most of IT playing or coaching DB.

One of you overbearing genius please tell me how any DB go full wheels trying to make a play pull up on that slide. On top of that if he was my guy I would chew his ass if he didn't make sure the players is down.... for both the older and younger folks, that was legal up until a few years ago and NOT a damn person said a Fing thing then. Well, I take that back... it would be "Great play Azeez!"

Nothing, I mean nothing, makes me more angry than this charming, soft,"He was down" whiney attitude by FB fans now. Go watch tennis or golf then. END RANT

With all the fake slides and dancing on the sidelines, I'm with Mark on this. If you don't want to get hit slide or go out of bounds, if you're trying for the extra inches by sliding late or dancing on the sidelines you should be able to be hit
