2024 Draft Thread

So half way thru season we all thought GB was going to have a top 10 pick in the draft. Now GB will either end up with the 25th, 29th, 31st or 32nd pick. Go 32nd pick!
I'm all in on the 32nd pick!

Was fooling around on some mock draft simulators the last couple of days and it's amazing how the quality and options drop off from where we thought we'd be drafting back in early November. The top tackles and safeties are often gone by #25. This will be a good draft to forget about needs and just take what's there (BPA). Hopefully they can fill a couple of needs in FA before the draft.

I think we can still get a top safety, another solid RB and a Good swing OT with those first 3 picks

We may get lower draft picks, but we're still getting 5 of the first 100, and that should go a long way towards filling some cracks that need filling.

It's worth paying the price, if your team proves there's more to them than just possibilities.

With 5 picks in top 90 I might consider packaging some of them up to move up if you can get a extra starter right away out of it.

No doubt, it's just that some of the names change. RB is no problem, there a number with Rd2-3 type grades. Probably need to grab a safety in Rd1 because it looks like things fall off pretty quickly in Rd2. Swing tackles or OT/OG types usually last a while, so that won't be a problem either. It's just that the OT's like Alt, Mims, Latham and Fashanu will likely all be gone, but fortunately the play of Walker the last half of the season has made OT less of a pressing need.

Couple guys who I think could be on board for GB when they pick

Safety-Kamren Kinchens and Tyler Nubin

OT-Jordan Morgan and Graham Barton

CB-Cooper DeJean and Johnny Dixon

So after no film study, a night of insomnia cause getting old sucks, and a quick reaction over breakfast:

Tier 1 needs (like needed these yesterday): S, ILB, RB - GB safeties are not that great and they certainly are not as physical as GB needs them to be. Savage is not all that. Same with ILB, need more speed there as well. RB as Mark said in shout, needs someone who can spell Jones (and no Dillon isn't it).

Tier 2 needs (still important but not as importanter as above): CB, OL, - No depth at OL bit them against SF, and Jaire is not what he was. Some of the other guys showed a lot of fire, but they aren't going to lock down better WR.

The rest: DL would be nice to find another DL who could plug things up or consistently help Clark. Gary has shown he is who he is, inconsistent and doesn't always show up when you need him to. Carlson is just a rookie, but you still bring in guys to push him and challenge him.

Good thing is GB has enough draft picks to address most of those.
