Interesting take here. Idea is that as NIL money culture continues to take hold, players are less likely to come out of school, watering down depth of drafts. Makes Day 1-2 picks much more valuable than Day 3.
That’s exactly what I’m afraid of. GB will be jacked up to get “extra picks” and leave good players they could use in the board and still not get a good guy later. They’ve been burned in the past doing this.I would not complain if something like this happened. GB trades back about 10 spots to early 2nd round giving up a 4th also but getting a high 3rd rounder back. GB then trades that 3rd rounder with a projected 4th round comp pick to move back into the 2nd round. GB then ends up with 4 picks in 2nd round and 2 picks in 3rd round. You don't have picks in round 4 or 5 but as metioned above you loaded up on day 2 picks to help depth. Then your 6th and 7th round picks end up your proroity UDFA draft picks.
they’ve also been burned by moving up and targeting certain players. bottom line, both methods work if your evals are on targetThat’s exactly what I’m afraid of. That's the key. I sure hope they have their evals tight because the right players, added to this current mix, could really upgrade this team and set them up for a good run, for several years.they’ve also been burned by moving up and targeting certain players. bottom line, both methods work if your evals are on target
When he says stuff like this, it might as well be in big neon letters - going to target S (draft, FA, maybe both)
