See on local news tonight taking about the new guardian caps. Sounds like players are not a fan of wearing them but it's required so they do it.
Of course not, it looks like the Michelin Man is squatting on their heads.

Concerned about player safety, the NFL has decided to add more layers of protection. In addition to the guardian caps, they will be required to wear a sort of... body armor. Team logos and colors will soon be made available to all fans who want to wear their team unis around the house and to games.

2022 Training Camp Update: August 2nd

Injuries:
OL David Bakhtiari (PUP-knee), K Mason Crosby (PUP-knee), OL Elgton Jenkins (PUP-knee), TE Robert Tonyan (PUP-knee), WR Christian Watson (PUP-knee), RB Kylin Hill (PUP-knee), DB Keisean Nixon (NFI-groin)

Not Practicing / Limited: WR Malik Taylor (shoulder), OL Cole Schneider (ankle), TE Marcedes Lewis (vet rest)

Offense:

  • Rookie OL Cole Schneider, who limped off the field yesterday, is not practicing today. Update: he's in a boot now.
  • TE Marcedes Lewis is not participating first padded practice today.
  • Sammy Watkins spending some time coaching up Romeo Doubs on releases and which way to turn coming out of a route during routes on air period. Doubs gives him a couple fist bumps as a thanks.
  • Yosh and Rashan first up in one on ones. Good first rep from Yosh then they take turns false starting or going offsides for the next 4 snaps. Trying to get that first step…
  • Lazard beats Gafford on the outside with relative ease. Back-shoulder from 12.
  • Cobb beats Douglas clean on a deep corner. Fun matchup there. *Perfect ball* from 12.
  • Deguara beats Scott nice wiggle on an out.
  • Watkins with an easy win on quick slant against Thomas.
  • Long way to go, but… Danny Davis is having a good camp. He looks legit.
  • Amari beats Savage on a slant.
  • Danny Davis beats Ento.
  • Dafney beats Leavitt.
  • Hyman had a step on Gafford but overthrown.
  • Doubs does a squirrelly deep route that turns Stokes who draws a holding flag from the official. Nice ball from Love.
  • Winfree smokes Vaughn but Vaughn closes fast and it ends up incomplete.
  • Mack beats Carpenter easy on a slant.
  • Osiris Mitchell with a really nice play vs Ento.
  • Lazard beats Gafford on slant.
  • Sal Canella stand up. Beautiful route vs Leavitt.
  • Cobb beats Douglas again.
  • Deguara with a beautiful double move vs Savage for a big gain.
  • Danny Davis with a gorgeous route vs Gafford. Gafford was in a blender.
  • Doubs wins deep vs Stokes, beat Stokes clean off the line and Rodgers hit Doubs in stride. Td for sure. Stokes frustrated, threw his helmet down. Jaire Alexander over to talk him down.
  • Offensive line - Yosh - Runyan - Myers - Newman - Tom today.
  • 1v1s OT Yosh Nijman, standing up Rashan Gary twice. Nijman didn’t take any reps after that.
  • Few snaps with Jones & Dillon together to start team work…
  • Love with his best throw of camp. Facing pressure hits Watkins wide open in stride deep to the sidelines. Watkins’ biggest play too.
  • Nice misdirection on a toss to Baylor for about 6. Wilborn did a good job getting over for the stop.
  • Dafney just owned Ramsey in pass pro but Etling misses Mitchell.
  • Some shoving after the play between OL George Moore and DL Jack Heflin. Coaches blow whistles to get them to knock it off. Getting chippy already.
  • Aaron Jones with great vision on a nice run.
  • BJ Baylor just did everything he could but 5 defenders immediately surrounded him. Defense rallying to the football again.
  • Aaron Jones almost made a dazzling, one-handed catch running open on corner route in red zone between defenders. Aaron Rodgers missed the throw high, and he did not look pleased with himself.
  • Love hits Toure over the middle for a nice pickup.
  • Josh Myers did a great job getting to the 2nd level and sealing the lb on a nice hb draw to Dillon.
  • Tipa shoots through the line for a pressure and may have been held but Rodgers fires to a leaping Sammy Watkins for a big completion. Nice comeback route from Sammy Watkins, creating separation against Eric Stokes on last red-zone rep.
  • Jones has had a really nice day running the ball. Making the most of small creases.
  • Rodgers adjusts presnap to a five wide look, hits Amari Rodgers on a quick slant. Perfect anticipation throw, knew right where the window would be in the defense. Amari got lots of separation on that one. Savage was the closest coming in from safety.
  • Really nice run by Goodson. Van Lanen and Menet opening up the left side.
  • Love is having a nice day. Hits Dafney in stride on a crosser over the middle.
  • Gaines with a nice blitz off the edge, Love throws deep to Doubs on a nice throw but Doubs can’t hold on and once again gets up a little gingerly.
  • Ishmael Hyman just ground Innes Gaines into the ground blocking for a WR screen. Going to be fun in the film room.
  • Love hits Mack in stride to the outside. Nice bounce back day for 10 today.
  • In red zone, Gary blows up third and goal play. Rodgers gets it out and Dillon nearly makes a circus catch before falling incomplete.
  • Rodgers hits Lazard for a td in red zone after buying a bunch of time. Despite the td you could tell he wasn’t happy with the session as a whole. Defense won for sure.
  • Love to Doubs in the corner of the end zone on a perfect touch pass with a stellar catch over Gafford. Gafford didn’t give him much room to work with but Doubs toe-tapped it right by the boundry. That was beautiful. Td offense. Ref threw a DPI flag on Rico Gafford, too.
Defense:

  • Quite a battle between Doubs and stokes in 1x1s. Stokes wins but may have been contact.
  • Fun battle Davis vs Davis. Shawn should have had the pick. Tyler comes up with it. Shawn strips him.
  • Gaines pbu vs Amari.
  • Kiondre Thomas just dragged down Watkins off a sick move. Penalty
  • Good rep Shemar vs Winfree. Winfree catch but no gain.
  • Gaines I think knocked it away vs Toure. Good session for him.
  • Devonte Wyatt showed his athleticism in one-on-ones, winning two of three reps vs. LG Jon Runyan. Wyatt’s speed forced a hold on first rep. After Runyan stood him up, Wyatt came back with impressive hands to shock Runyan out of position, then explode past him.
  • Lowry just blew up a run play vs Tyler Davis in team, nice cut back from Jones to get as much as he could.
  • Bootleg but Campbell isn’t fooled at all - he’s all over Dafney in the flat.
  • Rashan Gary not getting moved in the run game. He gets a stop at the line.
  • Rodgers tries to hit Doubs deep but De’Vondre Campbell gets deep in his drip, elevates, and tips the ball away at the last second. All-pro play by Campbell. That was super impressive.
  • Shawn Davis just came screaming up from safety, I think he would have had a stop about 2 yards in the backfield on Goodson.
  • Ford just about took the handoff on an attempted run by the 2s. Great instant disruption. Garvin was there setting a strong edge too.
  • Rodgers tries to hit Dillon who fell down on the play. Quay had good coverage anyway.
  • Enagbare and Tipa the next two edge rushers up today.
  • Garvin showing up in run defense today. Just beat George Moore to make a stop.
  • Back to team. Stokes with great coverage on Watkins on a 9 route. Ball overthrown anyway but that was a great rep by 21.
  • Jaire Alexander hasn’t done any of the 11 on 11 today. He was on the field for individual but that’s it now working on the side and not in full uniform.. Shemar Jean-Charles played outside in the nickel. In the base, Rasul Douglas moved outside. update: Not injury-related for Alexander.
  • Jarran Reed with a pressure on Rodgers, forcing him to roll to the left and throw incomplete for Watkins who was double covered.
  • De’Vondre Campbell has been everywhere. A quick stop on a short pass to Lazard.
  • Vernon Scott is the sixth DB in dime.
  • Kobe Jones beats G. Moore off the edge. Nice job flattening to the qb.
  • Jones to the QB again. Meanwhile Baylor w/ great blitz pickup.
  • How good is Rashan Gary? He just split a double team of Nijman & JRJ for a pressure. Unreal power from him. Grown men hanging on for dear life…
  • Next play - pressure by Lowry inside. This defense is relentless.
  • Kiondre Thomas with a pbu in red zone on a throw form Love.
  • McDuffie comes screaming through on a blitz. You can tell Isaiah McDuffie playing faster this summer, on both defense and ST.
  • Tipa with a nice pressure off the edge against Caleb Jones.
  • Also, Jarran Reed has been in Rodgers’ face the last couple days. Multiple times during that close red-zone period.
Special Teams:

  • Dallin Leavitt is a pitbull on teams. Definitely plays with some zip.
  • Rico Gafford and Amari Rodgers started punt coverage as the gunners.
  • Vernon Scott with a great rep as a gunner - Gafford was trying to jam on the play.
  • Romeo Doubs with a couple misplays on punt returns. Couldn’t field the ball in either instance.
  • Now Amari Rodgers with a muff on a punt return. It’s a little windy but returners are having issues.
  • Doubs looks a little shaken up after a punt return attempt. He’s walking slowly to the sideline and with a little limp. Will keep an eye on it. Update: And Doubs is right back out there so he seems fine. Still walking gingerly and checking his ankle tho. Update2: seems fine now.
  • Meanwhile Hyman muffs a punt.
  • Doubs fields a punt to applause after three or four hit the ground.
  • After all these years, Randall Cobb is still looked like the best option to return punts today.
  • Runyan snaps for Brkic field goal. Good kick, anyway.

The practice has ended after 1 hr 47 min.

Next Event:
Practice, August 4th 10:30AM CT.

Interviews:

LaFleur
Presser:

  • Matt LaFleur says it'll be awhile until bottom half of depth charts become clearer: "We have to get into some of those preseason games, and get a chance to sort that out."
  • Watkins' workload will increase every day. "It does us no good" if he has a setback, LaFleur says.
  • LaFleur on Amari Rodgers: "I think Amari had a really good day yesterday. Not only what he's shown on We-defense but offense, as well. The effort he showed yesterday was pretty gritty."
  • Matt LaFleur says there could "potentially" be live team reps Friday during Family Night. He hasn't quite decided on that yet: "We'll see how we're feeling, and how we get through the next couple days."

Of course not, it looks like the Michelin Man is squatting on their heads.
Aaron Jones called them igloos on his head.

Well, it's good to see Doubs still doing it with pads on. I hope we found a diamond. Hopefully, he replaces MVS and a little bit more.

If Watkins can stay fairly healthy and Lazard does his thing, we may be ok at WR. You will never replace Adams but if we can stay balanced with running the ball and play action, the offense can still move the ball and score some points.

The other thing I am hopefully optimistic about is the run defense. If TJ Slaton improves, Wyatt is who the Packers think he is, Reed looks like he can do some damage, and Campbell and Walker play solid at MLB's, we may actually be fairly formidable against the run. FCC(

Never going to replace Adams man for man, but if you can get a good chunk of that production out of Lazard and Watkins, IMHO, it makes the offense more effective/healthier with #12 not having tunnel vision for #17.
Spread the ball around.
I read that 80% of WR pass plays in 2021 went to #17, and defenses knew it.
Spreading it around makes the passing game much less predictable.
Could end up being a good thing.

Right now I take anything with any player with grain of salt. It was 1st week and it was install week and they put pads on for 1st time yesterday. For the media saying a rookie looks good after his 1st week of camp in shorts is a little foolish for them to report IMO. Just if they would say a guy is not looking good.

2022 Training Camp Update: August 3rd

General:

  • It was a jog-through, closed, indoor practice today so there aren't many updates today.
Practice has ended after 1 hr 24 min.

Next Event:
Practice, August 4th 10:30AM CT.

Injuries: OL David Bakhtiari (PUP-knee), K Mason Crosby (PUP-knee), OL Elgton Jenkins (PUP-knee), TE Robert Tonyan (PUP-knee), WR Christian Watson (PUP-knee), RB Kylin Hill (PUP-knee), DB Keisean Nixon (NFI-groin)

Not Practicing / Limited: WR Malik Taylor (shoulder), OL Cole Schneider (ankle), RB Patrick Taylor (groin), WR Osiris Mitchell (quad)

Offense:

  • RB Patrick Taylor is not practicing today with a groin injury. WR Osiris Mitchell also not practicing with a quad injury.
  • No. 1 offensive line is back to, left to right: Nijman, Runyan, Myers, Hanson, Newman. Zach Tom getting mixed in at LT too.
  • Packers ending practice with an end-of-game rehearsal. Just ran a hook-and-ladder play with Randall Cobb to Sammy Watkins at jogthrough speed. A bit of fun. Then ran a Hail Mary with Allen Lazard motioning from the backfield to left side, then across to the right. Lazard caught Aaron Rodgers’ heave from about 40 yards, though it was uncontested and just light jogthrough.
  • A good reason Packers doing end-of-game rehearsal even at half speed: Samori Toure just took lateral from Danny Davis and slid with 1 tick left. Like he was still in college, where clock stops after 1st down. Adam Stenavich let the rook know he has to score or go out of bounds.
Defense:

  • Jaire is back practicing today.
  • Packers essentially having a walkthrough today. Defense is supposed to allow offense to complete every pass, but De’Vondre Campbell just dropped into coverage and swatted an Aaron Rodgers pass for Tyler Davis. Big smile from Rodgers after.
Special Teams:

  • Kick returners today Rico Gafford, Amari Rodgers, Tyrone Goodson & Romeo Doubs.
Media:

Interviews:

Gutekunst
Presser:

  • GM Brian Gutekunst says rookie Romeo Doubs has had a "great start" to camp. He's been especially pleased with how Doubs has shown on the practice field what he scouted on film in college, specifically his ability to win in multiple ways as a receiver.
  • Gutekunst on Zach Tom: "He's a very smart guy. He played a bunch of position in college ... We like the versatility."
  • Gutekunst says he isn't too concerned with affects of Christian Watson missing in camp long term, but says the rookie WR will need to "play catchup" more the longer he misses.
  • Gutekunst says he could always see Yosh Nijman's physical tools on tape. Now he's been able to put those tools together to become an impressive offensive tackle: "He's really worked his way into a guy who's going to have a long career."
  • Gutekunst says it's evident Jordan Love feels more comfortable in his third training camp: "I think you're seeing a confidence level of, 'OK, I know what's going to happen before it happens.'"
  • Brian Gutekunst says he'd like to just put Rashan Gary in "bubble wrap" and save him for regular season. He's very pleased with his 4th-year edge rusher: "All the physical skills, and knowing what's going to happen before it happens, is coming together. He's wrecking practice."
  • Brian Gutekunst: "We're very, very bullish on Amari Rodgers and what he can do for this football team."
  • Brian Gutekunst joked (maybe it wasn’t a joke) that he could count the seconds between when the Raiders cut safety/special teamer Dallin Leavitt and when Rich Bisaccia called Gutekunst to push the Packers to sign him. Leavitt seems to be a special teams cornerstone here.
LaFleur Presser:

  • Team will practice inside today, in part, to preserve the grass, LaFleur says.
  • Matt LaFleur on Jordan Love's Tuesday practice: "One of his best practices we've seen in three years. He made some big-time throws, with pressure in his face."
  • Matt LaFleur said Jaire Alexander was feeling a little "tight" yesterday so the Packers shut him down. Precautionary thing. Wants him out there for Family Night.
  • LaFleur said the excessive number of muffed punts Tuesday was due to a defective Jugs machine. He said the ball wasn't turning over and getting blown all over the place. "We're in the market for a new Jugs machine," adding if someone has one that works could they borrow it.
