It really depends on the scheme and how each team wants you to change up. 44blitz makes a great point on spread and RPO principals in that they teach their WR 4-6 basic routes and then move them into different slots and run combos. A lot and I mean a lot of spread coaches forbid their receivers from "running open". Many others have 3 guys running set routes and the 4th running an option route depending on what he sees. So many QB are easilyWR have the read a secondary on more than broken plays. Not to be simplistic but they also need to read zone vs man and how a defense rolls coverage. Mark is much more educated on that part of the game.
Rodgers is much more athletic than Brady so he can create more, not at Mahomes level but Brady is snap , read , react and out.

As for GB, I believe for years Adams was the option WR with Rodgers and him shifting into a different route late, thus the billion delay of game calls... if you were the DC you just make a late shift in coverage that forces Aaron to counter what he called. 50/50 chance you louse up his play call that way.
