2021 Off Season Thread

Let me fix this for you. All 3 benefitted from having an HOF QB on the roster in their prime......and let’s be honest the AFC East was not murders row the past 20 years either
More augmenting than fixing.

And, agree about the afc east

Since 1996 only 6 teams have won multiple SB. One of those organizations is GB. The only thing a bad division does it get you into the tournament most likely with a bye, it’s not a free ticket to a Lombardi

You'd love to replace them all with better players, but that isn't realistic. I'd imagine a handful of them are back after the dust settles.

Agree with GBP, 7-8 will be replaced by rookies and UDFA's. I'd also imagine that there is more CAP news to come and a couple of lower budget FA's will also join the team.

Only ones who might be back I think are Lewis, Lancaster, and Greene and even all 3 of them are very iffy.

It's hard to envision what the Packers will do when it comes to creating depth. At this point, we have no idea what they feel is necessary through FA, and what will be taken care of in the draft. I have a hunch the FA hunt won't begin until after the draft is complete, and they can assess what they actual get through that route. They'll probably gamble that at least a couple of their lower round draft picks will be serviceable as back ups, after they gain some camp and preseason experience.

It's all a guessing game until then.

What I am curious about is what they determine is the priorities in the draft. I think they'll mix it up, but their top couple of picks could be defensive front seven. After that, a couple of picks to augment the offensive line.

There are so many low level wide receivers in this draft that investing in the 6th and 7th round could actually find a diamond in the rough. Look towards someone who has size and speed, good route running technique, understands the reads on the field, and played for a school whose passing game sucked because of the coaching, offensive line, and/or the QB. They're out there, just gotta do the homework.

sadly, even though your guesses are what they should do, i think all you have to do is look at last year's draft to see the difference between what they should do and what they actually do are two completely different things. i would not be at all shocked to see the packers use top draft picks for players that will never see the field in 2021.

What would that even look like? They did it so thoroughly last year, it would basically need to be a repeat. Anything other than QB and RB, that player stands a chance of seeing significant playing time.

Packers FO is questionable. You see other teams that win but yet they figure ways to handle the cap ala KC. You have to question how good Russ Ball is or maybe it's time to stop this outdated BS the team needs to pay all guaranteed money in a signing bonus or make sure that we pay everything in the first two years so we can get out of the contract easy.
