What 4th round picks?
Gute has traded away every 4th round pick he’s owned except for one!I
I think it’s something like 4 traded away and 1 kept?
That hurts IMO, because how do you set your Day 3 board of the draft when you are sitting on your hands for the first 50-60 picks of Day 3?

True. But he isn't scouting the players himself. He has to trust his scouts. However it is his job to realize that his scouts stink and he needs to replace them. So you are correct in that it is his job.
 
You’d think coming from his background and career experience he’d know what to look for in the type of people he needs

i will agree with you on alexander. savage has been pretty inconsistent. the amount of production we have gotten from gary isn't even close to being worthy of a first round pick. especially one in the top half of the first round.

Maybe Gute needs to be like TT more and watch the tape more then what his scouts say. Ted always said he never asked opinions of players besides maybe MM otherwise it was always what he thought of the player.

Something is whacked in the process if you are trading up for Oren Burks, or putting a third round grade on Deguara, dropping a 2nd round pick on AJ Dillon. I don't think you can fix that.
