Rodgers Wants Out

I'm still leaving a sliver of hope that this is all blown out of proportion and they can get this resolved before training camp for the benefit of all parties. But c'mon, I don't care whether the organization was "blindsided" by it, because his teammates clearly were.

Aaron can easily put this to rest by saying literally anything publicly to refute it, or re-structuring his deal to facilitate a trade if he really wants out of GB. He hasn't. What other conclusions are we to draw at this point? It's an absolutely un-professional and unprecedented stance to take from a player of his caliber in such a great football situation.

I’d say let it ride. He’s far too concerned with his image to sit out and it’s far too much money to retire. So maybe he plays even more angry this year and you get another MVP season.

But he’s shown very little muscle so far. He could be disruptive through the media but none of these comments have actually come out if his mouth yet. He’s acting weak. He has not badmouthed the organization first hand yet. He’s threatened, but behind a veil. Let him have his temper tantrum.

Do nothing and the worst that happens is he’s a distraction. If the distraction becomes untenable, trade him. I mean he’s already a distraction. So whether he stays, sits out, or leaves, my gut says this year is going to be messy.

Exactly. I would add to this though. Both Aaron, the Packers and all of us know what the media does, this is nothing new. So I have stopped blaming them for any of this, because I have the ability to know that this is their standard mode of operation and it requires filtering and logical thinking on our part to get to the real facts. I don't like it, but it is what it is.

So to your point, the Packers have spoken, it's time for Aaron to correct any of the discrepancies that the Media has made. If he doesn't want to, chances are he is just hoping to burn the whole relationship to the ground by doing nothing and its working.

Rodgers wants to be assistant GM/QB. He wants to give advice on roster fine he can. But don't act like a spoiled little brat who's going to take his ball and go home when the team won't do what he wants them to do with the roster.

I don't think people get it to be honest. It appears that all Rodgers wanted was the same respect that any other person leading a team of people on a job should have. They should be involved in evaluating the person's performance, and at least having a suggestive role in deciding who would do best on the job.

Imagine yourself, as a work place leader, being told that the people in the front office will be the ones who evaluate what the person can do on the job, and despite the fact you think one or two people are important to your team, they ignore what you say, and kick them to the side of the road and bring people in who are inadequate.

Then, when it doesn't work out the way they want it to, they bring in someone to replace you down the road.

Obviously, in the business world, you'd be smart to get the hell off that job and go somewhere else, where they respect the judgement of those in supervision enough to let them at least have a voice in choosing the workers.

I understand the philosophy of total discipline associated with football, but I also understand that players who feel that someone is listening to them also goes a long way towards getting players to perform at their highest level. This idea that they should be blindly obedient no longer fits in the game.

I'm not supporting Rodgers, but in all honesty, if the statements about his voice being ignored by the brass is accurate, I can understand why he's told them to stick it.

Yes the Packer organization has spoken but the Packer organization has also done it’s fair share of leaking stories on this fiasco also. While Murphy & Gute was out there preaching to the public and the media that they are dealing with his contract, the organization was also flying its collective management team out to LA to play damage control. Now our Diva QB not without blame here, far from it.

Personally I don’t think there are many discrepancies at all. What is missing is the entire story which goes well beyond money and Kumorow getting released. What ever happened did not just pop up and if the organization thought money was going to solve this they are mistaken.

Just get the gorilla in the room out there, he wants a trade and he wants out. It’s no secret around the league, agents and players are about as gabby as The Real Housewives. The damage has already been done, the distraction is there so it’s time to fix it. It’s time for the organization to cut bait now, the “brand” is more important than one player. Mark has said it and many of us have to. This divorce will make the Favre drama look like Romper Room. It’s already is worse

We don't know that his voice is being ignored by the brass, but I think we can probably safely speculate that Aaron wants more input into the process than he's getting now. As I have said before, for some reason he thinks he should be more involved than he feels he currently is.
