Rodgers Wants Out

I’m in the camp that he leaves via trade after June 1st. TT got only a 3rd round pick for Favre, so anything better than that I will view in a somewhat positive light.
Even if Rodgers just “walks away”, I still view it as a ‘win’ because GB won’t have given him extra years/tons more cash that would put this team in ‘cap Siberia’ for years and years to come.
Wow! The future came rushing at us like a run away train last night.

Trading Rodgers before draft made sense as you get max value. Trading him June 1st his draft value IMO halfed

That’s not completely correct. Schefter is looking at $21M counting this year because his quick math says Packers already paid his $6.8M roster bonus plus have to count the $14.3M pro-rata signing bonus.
But after June 1st, Packers get to push 1/2 of that $14.3M into 2022.
So he would actually only count ~$14M in 2021, and that’s how GB gets ~$22.5M in cap saving in 2021 by waiting post June 1st to do this.

And his value did not change from Feb 1st to today. What changes on 6/1 is the organization gets more flexibility. The market was and still is limited

I'm just venting.

It looks like History is repeating itself once again. It's true in life and true in this situation. The organization learned nothing from the Favre crap. But neither did Aaron. To say that he "won't play for the Packers again" feels like a slap in the face of fans, who have supported him through most of his career. Maybe it just me, but he says that he doesn't feel respected by the organization. Gimme a break. If he was going to throw a fit, it made more sense for him to throw it last year. Alright Aaron, go. All the BS you spued during your news conferences about Packers fans being the greatest fans and then saying you're not going to play for them again?

This franchise is different because it doesn't have one owner. The organization and Rodgers have really messed this up and frankly at this point I feel the same way I did about Favre.

Ok. Done

If this is all true.

Rodgers has some blame of course. He's behaving like a Diva. But, I do think he likes Wisconsin and Packers Fans. He doesn't like the front office that doesn't go after players to win now. Last year was the worst. But the Pack very frequently drafts and/or reaches on players - it appears that the Front Office is trying to look like geniuses to frequently by reaching or taking a player out of position rather than taking the player most think could just step in, play, and have an impact. I believe this is what Rodgers is mad about. If I were a Rodgers skilled player playing on a team that never got players for now, I'd be pissed.

But the Front Office. All that crap I said above. Then as far as handling situations, they resign Jones? Good running back but probably could have gotten Williams a lot cheaper and maybe kept Linsey. Too me, Linsey and Williams are better than Jones. And, to not trade him to the Niners or Broncos and get the 3d or 9th? You could have grabbed a QB at 3 or the big tackle. Great players were available at 9. I get the cash situation. But you're losing one of the best QBs, you've got to get something. Trading Rodgers to Denver in June will give us a 20+ pick.

His trade value today is no different than it was in February. The harsh reality is that it’s a very limited / small market with little move to leverage offers. Sometimes fans overvalue what a player is worth in the market.
