These coordinators need to coach and not be enamored with the legend of AR. Holmgren, on the Eisen show, said when he became QB coach of San Fran, Montana pulled him to the side and told him to coach him hard. To make sure he is aware of all the mistakes he's making and force him to correct them. Thtat's what a Hall of Famer does.
 
What's scary is who they would ask to be the interim HC? I wonder if it would be Pettine or Philbin? Both have had head man experience, so probably a good choice to finish the year.

And your long term solution is? I ask because I don’t think there is a guy out there who can fix this mess. Will the fan base be satisfied with 9-7 ?

I don't have a good answer for you Pack other than with another question, which is, did we know Holmgren was gonna be the solution?

I do think that the fanbase is a smart fanbase and they have come to the realization that the coaching staff is stale, the front office has depleted the roster and that is a 2 to 3 year rebuild if all goes well.

Looking at some posts on other sites if McCarthy is replaced just print Super Bowl tickets. As to Holmgren he came from a successful franchise and he had a track record. I don’t see that “resume” with any candidates being floated

I should caveat the smart fanbase comment to not include Scormore12 :p:p......there's my prickness for the day...
 
So College coaches to replace MM? Dave Shaw, Lincolin Riely, and Brian Kelly?
