I remember an incident when I was a cop. The prosecutor put a picture on a screen showing the defendant, at the scene of a murder, covered in blood. It was murder using a kitchen knife. The judge told the jury to forget the picture because it shouldn't have been shown. He had it stricken from the court records.
Now, assume you're on the jury and you just saw a body that was gored, guts hanging out, and a second picture of a person covered in blood, who was there at the time of the stabbing. Do you think the jury ignored the picture when rendering a verdict?
