I think they'll offer a low ball figure to Lang, nothing more. I think they're more concerned about keeping others on the line, and at his age, Lang is odd man out because of salary expectations.
The idea of Cook, Hyde, and Perry having a higher priority makes sense. All three are essential next year. Especially since Cook is our only truly solid TE, Hyde can play dime, nickel, and even step in to the normal defense, if warranted. Perry is a must, especially since we have no idea where it's going with Peppers, whom I hope the resign. He's still a force out there, and a team leader. Holding him out on plays is a coaching option, to keep him fresher, not because he can't do a good job on all three downs. Perry does well as the other half of the equation.
I'm anxious to see if Thompson goes to win the whole thing this year, or if he's going to continue to be a "caretaker" of an 11-5 season, and being dumped out in the playoffs. I hope he goes all-in, but I doubt it will happen.
This could be the most pivotal draft in the career of Rodgers. His time in GB is running out, and we need to put the pieces in place now to make a three year run. If it passes this year, I believe the run is done.
