T.J. Lang prepared to hit free agency

Spriggs had better not be a guard. After swapping 2nd round picks and throwing in a 4th and a 7th, he's got to be waiting in the wings behind Bak or Bulaga.

Since Bak just signed a new contract he won't be replacing him anytime soon. Bulaga perhaps. Bulaga will be entering year 3 of his contract next year so if he gets hurt or play starts to slide Bualga could be facing the end if Spriggs shows he is ready to be a starting RT. Or perhaps you move Bulaga to guard and let him finish his last couple years there.

I want Lang back not just for his play on the field but he bleeds green and gold. The man as battled injuries and is a leader on and off the field. our O line is now a strong point of this team. Keep it together. I don't think he is going to try and break the bank. Offer him a fair deal and keep one of the top guards in the league. There are a few rooks that I think could man the spot if we do end up losing Lang and Tretter but I don't want to spend a 1st or 2nd on a guard.

Perry is #1 by a long shot

lang is 2nd.

After that we could survive with losing the rest. Hopefully bring in a CB and/or pass rusher.

Been seeing reports that Lang could end up with anywhere on a 3-4 year deal averaging 8-10 million a year. Don't know if Ted will invest that much in soon to be 30 year old guard.

I really want to see Lang back but I know they're not going to sign him and I know it's going to hurt this team. Writing is on the wall, however, and you can see their thought process - Bulaga to OG, Spriggs or the other kid out to RT.

EDIT: also wanted to add, I think it's kind of shitty for the team to just stay silent on Lang rather than giving him a call and saying we're not going to bring you back. I know they don't have to but for a guy of his status it's the right thing to do.

I don't think Bulaga ends up at OG this year. I think Packers let Lang Walk. They resign Tretter who will be put at guard. Spriggs will be a backup swing tackle. If Bulaga's play goes down or he gets hurt this could be his last year in GB with Spriggs then taking over at RT.

Is the friction between MM and TT starting to show? TT hasn't talked to Lang's agent and MM's presser at the combine saw him laud praise on TJ. 'Best OL he's coached in 20 years'. Wants Lang back. Could be very interesting.
