Rodgers, The Packers and Reality

According to a Yahoo poll, 52% of those who responded believe Rodgers should leave football to take the gig as Trebek's replacement. I think polls like that are too ambiguous.

Haggis with a side of blood pudding. That would seriously reduce the number of people who would RSVP.

EDIT: I actually "tried" both of those when visiting friends in the UK. He was originally from Scotland. We went up to his home country, and went to a pub that served both. I was told that to be a member of their little group, I had to take at least one bite of each. I did it, but I washed each down with a wee heavy. Then I went to the serious drinking of Scotch beer.

Was the blood pudding similar to what you get with an Irish breakfast? I don’t mind that too much, it just tastes a lot like cloves

A couple weeks ago there was some talk around that GB was trying to work with Rodgers on something with his contract, but with this new Rodgers PR blitz, I think it's safe to say that those talks, whatever they were, have fallen through and are over. The team does not want to commit to him more than year-to-year, and he's not ready to walk off into the sunset either. Murphy is out there with "no comments" and Rodgers, as per his usual, is happy to air his side and the dirty laundry in the media. That's where we stand.

I believe it's essentially the same thing. There may be some variance. Pork, suet, blood. Maybe there are variations that use cloves? I don't know. Not going to try to copy it. I do know that we tend to take things for granted here in the US, and don't use the total edible portions of our slaughtered animals. They make every ounce of an animal matter.

Even if I didn't like something over there, I respected their heritage that said to treasure what you've got. I found that so true in many areas of Europe.

I think Rodgers enjoys Green Bay and Wisconsin. Not more than his native CA. But, I believe actually enjoys it.

Rodgers was last year's MVP. Even his down year's are top 10. Could he have played better in the Championship, yes. But we aren't there without him. 31 other teams find a way to increase their talent when they have a QB like him. They don't make the drafts we did last year. They find a way to bring in free agents. They don't keep coaches who aren't getting it done.

Rodgers is honestly answering questions.

The Pack's front office actions mean more than their words. They can't wait to show how brilliant they are. They're heads will be on pikes in 2 years.

Rodgers sure as hell isn't perfect. I've been extremely critical about him going for the big play instead of moving the chains. I think he will regret not running that 3d down for the rest of his life. But, we're going to hate it when he's gone.
