Postgame thread: Packers Lose To The Lions 24-14

GB looks like one of the youngest teams in the league with a team that often plays greater than the sum of its parts. This is not a team stacked with talent overall. It’s great when everything falls into place and they play above themselves. But days like today when you need talent to take over a game and get back on track it just isn’t there.

The OL is awful. Sorry, all that talk preseason was bunk. I know they had some injuries. But it gets said every year about the OL “they’re ok but if injuries hit watch out”… and well, ya… about that… I’m looking at you Gutey…

Once again depth is the Achilles heal.

GB will win plenty of games cause when everyone clicks it’s a great thing. GB does not have the talent to overcome on those days everyone isn’t clicking.

This all comes down to execution. Penalties continue to be a problem. TOs continue to be a problem. (You can't have pick 6 and expect to win a football game). Missed FGs continue to be a problem.

This team has been undisciplined since the beginning of the year. After 9 games, I don't expect things to suddenly change. This team is what it is.

We most likely make the Wild Card and lose in the first or second round. You can't win a SB being undisciplined and not being able to execute.

Me thinks if we gripe about the details today that we are missing the point.

This Packer team was not prepared for today. Awful execution in too many points. This squad needs a Lombardi-injection as soon as possible. The details matter. Execution means everything.

I don't really know what turned things around last year. But we need some of that beginning tomorrow.

We could and should still get a WC slot. But we need to start playing like the playoff team that we want to be now already.
Bingo...well stated

we are 0-2 in our division, and still have 4 more division games to play. unfortunately for us, the two that we lost were both home games, which means that we have to win on the road against division rivals. not impossible, but not likely if we play like we did today. the only two that we absolutely should win are against the bears. if we are very lucky, we can still be a wild card playoff team. but again - we cannot play like we did today. this was an absolute s#!t show. you can talk about "over 400 yards", but yards don't win games. talent, game plan, execution, and heart win games.
Play like they did against the Lions, and the division will run them

I'm not posting this because it's some sort of novel take, it's not. I'm posting it because this is becoming a national narrative, not just trolling Bears fans, but national sports people. When these narratives take hold they start to worm their way in to all facets of a team. Going in to the year GB was a young team on the rise, about to compete for a SB. Now they're a young team making mistakes, not ready for the next level, with a regressing QB. It can impact Love, the roster, the coaches, the org. Fans will certainly hear it. I'm not trying to be a chicken little with this, but there should be way more alarms going off with the team and org than there seem to be. Love steered himself out of this once before and so he can do it again, but it's time to DO it.

The statement is true. For most of the INT's Love does has it is a stupid throw he should not make but he himself is writing it off to trying to make a play. Sometimes it's better to throw it away or take a sack instead of making a risky throw trying to make a play.

I don't understand how LaFleur can call such great games when Willis is playing but sometimes with Love they are discombobulated from the get go.

This goes back to the end of the SF game last season, it’s stayed the same since.

Also, I know the record is 6-3 which is good, but i think the reason it feels worse is knowing that they’re only 4-3 in games played predominantly by the starting QB. They feel like a .500 team whose QB struggles are holding them back right now.

This year they are playing like they expected them to play last season.
