Post-game GB Beats JAX 30-27

I'm on board with all of this. My only quibble is that, just like Shanahan often does, sometimes I want to see GB run the ball just to run the ball. Even if the look is unfavorable, just run the ball. One thing that has been working with Willis at QB is they just hand it off and say, Our guys are gonna beat your guys - and they've had some success. That's something I love about the way Detroit plays as well. If you have the horses to pull it off it's a huge asset on offense to be able to get yards on the ground even when the other team knows it's coming.
I agree. Especially when Jordan got hurt. I am far from an expert as you can get. But it seems like they tend to lean on the pass Sometimes more than the run. JMO

I read the comment about same old defense and took it this way:

Closing minutes, need a stop to prevent a team from:
  • Tieing the game
  • Going ahead
  • Taking a 2 score lead
Our defense did not stop Jacksonville from tieing the game.

Yes, our defense played better than in past years. But, don't tell me you have confidence it will get that NEEDED stop. So, even though, much better, to me our defense is same old until I feel comfortable without a 3 score lead with 3 minutes left.

Not saying I don't like what they're doing or don't think they can get there, but they're not. So, in many ways, same old

This was the game I had circled at the beginning of the season for my pet theory of "Upper Midwest teams swelter when playing in the south after the weather has turned cooler back home"
Always. It's even worse when you lack depth due to roster limitations, or due to injuries. Guys have to be out there giving 100% on too many plays.

Yeah, not a good sign thus far...
i think that may be why willis has a better record than love at this point. he's more mobile and elusive. i'm not saying he's a better quarterback than love, but he has value to the team. and i think a healthy willis just might have a better chance of beating the lions than a gimpy love.
