When I saw both running routes in the first preseason game after their draft, I was pretty certain Kraft was going to be the better of the two, regardless of what the reads were, by others.
Kraft displayed the mental skills that makes a quality TE. As an example, maneuvering to get his body between the defender and the football when he's the target, and reading down and distance for 1st downs, which is almost as important as catching the ball itself. Plus, he was throwing blocks, while other TEs didn't see it as that much a part of their job.
