Amen! It does seem to indicate that our O-Line is showing some serious advancement. The next time someone here complains about Packers OL depth, just remember that Royce Newman was claimed off waivers to another team's 53. It's tough sledding out there!
I hope so but I don't know. They kept 10 OL, which may indicate that they're not confident in anyone after No. 7. But Royce Newman has been a disaster. He had a long look against Denver and it's one of the reasons the O felt non-functional. If he's getting a look around the league, just shows you how little league-wide depth there is. Teams are desperate for anyone with some level of experience or who has shown ability at some time.Amen! It does seem to indicate that our O-Line is showing some serious advancement.
Kristian Welch is signing with the Ravens. The only release I don't really get is Welch. He's a ST guy who can actually play his position in a pinch. Isn't that what you want in a backup? Maybe he's redundant with Eric Wilson in that way but what's wrong with that?

Matt LaFleur says #Packers will practice under the lights at Lambeau Field tomorrow night. Closed practice. He wants to mimic gameday for night opener in Brazil. So practice in the big stadium."Some people are not very happy about that either. (Fields manager) Allen Johnson."
Makes sense, I think that was his first team before GB signed him.Kristian Welch is signing with the Ravens.
it was. i don't get all the love for a linebacker that has been in the nfl for four years and has played in 57 games (zero starts) and has a combined total of 27 tackles (zero sacks and zero tackles for a loss). i mean after four years in the league how much better is he likely to get? i guess it is possible, but doubtful in my mind.Makes sense, I think that was his first team before GB signed him.
as i've already said - he has had four years in the league and done next to nothing. i don't think anyone is rushing to any conclusions. four years is more than most young nfl players are given.Glad to hear Welch is getting a shot with the Ravens. I think he's a much better player than the Packers gave him credit. I think they're pushing a little harder on the "new kid on the block theory" than they should, in some cases. Getting younger doesn't always make you better, and you need some stability.
I wish him well. He deserves this chance to prove himself.
