Packers 2022 Thread

QB - 2
RB - 4
TE- 4
WR -6
OL - 9
Ttl- 25

With 25 on Def and 3 on ST’s it’s doable.
They keep 1 less in the TE room. Last year it was 5 TE’s. Dafney draws the short straw after Tonyan comes back
I could see this break down on defense. Though if they really like a WR I could see them go 7 WR and one less TE

For whatever it’s worth, looks like Rodgers is in town this week

Wonder if he decided to show up for OTA because the Packers softball game is this weekend and might play in that also spend week here and kill two birds with one stone.

Edit Did not know this is mandatory camp so that's the reason he's at OTA.

So OTA's today and tomorrow open to public depending on weather.

History tell us they pay their own so I can see some deal worked out. His value in GB is more than the open market.
hmmmm . . . you mean like tretter and linsley? both were drafted by the packers and both are rated in the top ten centers in the nfl. packers failed t "pay their own" in both cases.

You can’t afford everyone that’s impossible. There is a thing called a cap. And no I’m not guaranteeing a center $26m

i understand cap constraints. i simply gave two examples of where the packers failed to "pay their own" for players who are considered among the best at their position. there have been other examples and i know you can think of several. i just thought that was a curious statement to make about a team that has - on many occasions - let some pretty high-powered talent walk away because they didn't want to pay them.

Hang on a second here. The reason they let Tretter walk was because they drafted Linsley, who also turned out to be a good center. Tretter developed into a good starter too but he was up and down with injuries while in GB. And they DID pay Linsley a second contract, he's a prime example of GB taking care of their own and betting on a guy to continue to improve. The number of third contracts given out by GB to non-QBs is a very short list, Bakhtiari is the only guy on it that I can think of (and as mentioned earlier, he has played all of 3 or 4 games on that third contract since 2020). Technically Preston Smith is one as well, we will see how that turns out.
