The Packers have brought on longtime NFL assistant coach Aubrey Pleasant, per sources. He joined the Packers last week, shortly after he was fired as defensive coach of the Lions. He previously worked with Packers coach Matt LaFleur in Washington and with the Rams.

The Lions defense is awful and he got fired from them. This seems a hire that ML made to make sure a friend has a job.

Pleasant had the dubious honor of working with Dan Campbell in Detroit. He's a pretty good defensive minded coach from what I understand. In Detroit, their DBs may be the worst combination in the NFL. Aubrey was the sacrificial goat on this one. That team is totally off the tracks. Don't judge them by the Packer game, but judge Pleasant by how well they handled the Packers passing game.

If anything happens, and we end up shy one defensive coordinator at the end of this year, don't be surprised if Aubrey gets the job. ML worked with him and believes in him. Right now, he's got him in-house, so he's not getting away.

LaFleur confirmed that Pleasant has been helping the offensive staff with "game planning and how a defensive coach might break us down."

Packers St coach Rich Bisaccia said they're still evaluating the punt returner situation but said "I really like Amari Rodgers, the person. Jersey No. 8 has put is in bad situations."

He said he pulled him for Keisean Nixon because he "thought it was time to put Keisean in a situation where he could help us win." They're still evaluating what they'll do with that spot on Thursday.

Lions are 2-0 since he was fired…
