Great points. I would love to see a wheel and dealing type FO that often pushed the boundaries as far as being willing to trade players before it got to the point of tagging or letting them walk. I know that wouldn't be a popular tact but get some draft capital in return and continually build a strong roster.

What’s funny about this is that for years fans bitched about not doing what other teams do like void years and kicking the can. Now that they do it it’s oh we’re being cheap
 
Sorry just don't want to kick good players away because we are worried about cap. Kick Bak and Jones to curb in 2023

That’s 2023. Does not help with signing Alexander today. Bak only saves what $6m?

The issue is what dead money gets accumulated with the void years. It’s not as simple as cut this guy or that guy. And some deals have escalators to account for and LTBE $$

But if 2 years you have Rodgers Bak and Rodgers off the book 2024 you have cap space just make it work
 
I see Titans maybe in same situation we are talking about. There is rumors they might not keep AJ Brown and trade him because of cap issues and not wanting to pay him top WR money

IF. Key word. In 2 years means 12 plays in 2023 and more dead cash
