Packers 2022 Draft Thread

That's what I am saying Alexander is 25 years old he's a stud. I say you have to figure out the cap not let good players walk. At some point players won't even want to stay here they will just demand a trade in year 3 or 4 knowing they won't get a new contract because GB is cheap asses that are more worried about the cap then winning
They are not being cheap. That’s insane

I think that's the ever evolving conundrum that the FO often finds itself. You have to find a balance and you have to have some sound knowledge on the ramifications of these contracts. That's why I am a little leery about all of this but, as many have said, these FO guys get paid a lot of dollars to know what they are doing. Let's hope they have a sound vision and sound way of balancing the ever changing landscape of these contracts.

And I am going to repeat for the millionth time you can't keep paying your" top guys" every time this happens, also he's coming off a major injury... WTH happens if he never becomes the player he was?

That’s basically my point. It’s balance. You have multiple players with void years and that bill comes due. Some current deals also have escalators that will impact the cap in future years

It’s also about balance. It’s not like the NBA where you basically have a soft cap that you can cut the check how you want
