Packers 2022 Draft Thread

Yep.
But Olave’s downside is that he won’t offer much in the way of blocking in the run game (which would be a plus in ML’s offense).
It will be interesting how GB weighs out the pros/cons of the WR’s that fall to them in Rnd 1.
Do they take a WR who is more game ready as a rookie?
Or, do they take a guy who may have a potential higher ceiling by years 2or 3?
I was reading some stuff last night and one analogy saw was Pickens and Stokes. Both not seen as Round 1 by many but the analytics match. I know it’s one data point but worth watching

Might be why they bring in a guy like Pickens so they get a chance to pick his brain a little and find out if he has that “want to” physical factor for the run game.
He certainly checks the other boxes.

Yeah he’s does check the boxes. 24 games @ Georgia with next to nothing the last 2 years makes evaluation difficult. He looked the part as a freshman that’s not a question. He’s a talented kid…risk / reward

Physical though can that be fixed by just getting him into the weight room getting more muscle and teaching him how to use it on the field.
The danger is that when you change the body of a WR too much it can impact other parts of their game, bulking up too much could turn him into a different player.

I would not be at all surprised by Pickens in Rd 1, especially if Olave and Burks are gone at #22. Then Pickens at #28 very well could happen. He does check all the boxes except "production". Watson also would not be a surprise. Gute will rank guys differently than any of the draft sites based on the team's criteria - just like Stokes last year as FlaPack said above.

If possible I rather move down 5 sports or so if Pickens or Burks were the pick get a extra 4th or 5th.

Your assuming one or both would be there 5 spots down and that’s no given. Especially Burks

I’d only do that if you believe “they” or someone of similar value would still be available.
Also have to remember that the well is only “so deep” when it comes to drafting that future difference maker at WR
